First off there's nothing fabricated about anything i said what i saw and i didn't mention the entire fan base but i did mentioned the fans on their message board still been salty about it and still saying negative things about her and UT. all of y'all are not saints, I've seen more negativity than well wishes and i will just leave it at that.

Well if you are refferring to a small majority of our fan base, then i agree. I said and mentioned , its mostly people who claim to be fans of our on message boards ,spewing that stuff

A small majority (to the extent it makes any sense at all) is still a majority... UNC education at its finest.

My experience is that Volcrazy is normally right btw. No one is going to have ironclad proof for that sort of thing on a message board because coaches are careful enough not to call up the local paper when they run other programs down. But word gets back as to what is being said through recruits, players, parents, other coaches etc...

Anyway, none of this is very important. Yeah, there will be sour grapes over this just like there were a few here when Davis, DeShields and Tucker all didn't end up coming to play for us right out of the gate. But that is what fans do. If coaches are running other programs down then that is what they do, and at most places besides UT it is part of their job description. The next best thing to getting a player is to keep her from going to a rival, or to poison the well for another school as far as future recruits go. Water is wet.

If I had to guess I would say DeShields was sold a bill of goods during her original recruitment and realized it fairly quickly. When Pat became ill I am sure other programs saw their opportunity to pounce and even if NC didn't tell Diamond things that were not true she nevertheless heard them from other sources and NC ended up benefiting from them.

Just about every college athletics program has a message board or forum so the fans can have a place to discuss and talk about news that has to do with their team and the board i saw the negativity from was clearly a North Carolina board and it's clear as day that they are all Tar Heel fans. again i didn't mention your entire fan base just the one's on that board.

A:loco: "small majority" is still a majority. You mean 51% ?:loco:

No his claims were that first, our coach is not innocent what ever that jibberish nonsense means, 2 Fans from our fanbase are still bashing these young ladies on twitter and instagram which i have yet to see, so i challenge him to prove this rhetoric nonsense he is claiming, and what i mean by small majority , is like 5 people at the most , on a message board spewing that nonsense against these ladies, those 5 if it is that many don't make up or decide how our whole fan base feel about this situation. So stop bunching our whole fanbase in with these few people who speak ill will against these ladies

I got this on the Baylor fan site.

"SmallVol1, Just received information that Tennessee had been dropped by one of their opponents from their 2014-15 schedule..."

Anyone know who dropped us, why, or who will potentially take the spot? Have no idea where his info came from.

Is it possible Tennessee might have asked a team to drop them? What follows is admittedly based on minimal information (which oft seems to be a requirement on this forum :whistling:):

Here's the conjecture part: No mystery that "Aunt Holly" and most Lady Vol insiders would love to help Tyler Summitt get his LaTech program off to a good (financial) start. And they would want Pat to see her boy coaching in TBA while she is able to appreciate all the nuances of what he's doing from courtside. Even Hart would understand there's good turnstile & TV money to be made from scheduling "the boy."

I think normally ESPN would wait a year or two to see if Tyler can get something rolling down there to make sure there's a competitive game to accompany such a sentimental (and history-laden, to be fair) matchup. But with Pat's situation, everyone knows the clock is ticking.

Now here's the minimal info: According to one LaTech source, Tyler intends to have two SEC teams on the Lady Techster's schedule this year. Citing the basketball travelers scheduling board, another Ruston source says Tyler is still trying to book a non-conference game between the 19th and 22nd of December 2014.

Do any of these dots connect?

Now those are some dots! Never even started to think that way, and I doubt it is anywhere near reality. BUT I would love it. Sooner or later Tyler will bring a team to TBA, and it would be nice to do it while Pat can enjoy seeing him there. Wishful thinking......

:shhh: Maybe you should just start a new thread. Only this time, be more specific. Call it something like... "2014-2015 schedule opening."

Smallvol#1, :mf_surrender: maybe it's time to cut our losses and just rename this thread. Could we use the name "I said/You said/I said you said/You say you said (but you're a liar)/Prove it" or was that formally retired after the Fulmer-Kiffen-Dooley era?

Just a thought: maybe sports forums should have a Barbed Wire(less) Death Cage Section where mods could transport "relentless conversations" that have rolled off the topic and under the table.

But the sad truth is, Smallvol#1, you caused this whole mess...

...by making the initial post off topic! :loco:

[while I was composing this post, all the off-topic ballyhoo was removed--but I'll leave it up as a tribute to the responsive staff at volnation :salute:]

sorry for diverting the topic. I am interested in talking about Tenn. That's why I am here, not to call people out.

(even though I was right) ;)

So preponderance of off-topic relative to topic precludes on-topic from being on-topic and therefore on-topic is off-topic. Have I got it right?
Glad the staff removed what they did; I had requested the whole thread be tossed.
But I do enjoy the way you look at things!
And, no, the F-D-K is a true never ending story and will never be retired.

No, Tennessee did not "Ask" a team to drop them. Far from it.

If Tennessee wanted to add La Tech or anyone else to the schedule, there was plenty of room to do so from the time he was hired.

Anyone seen this? Don't know anything about 'Atticus Finch' (sounds like a novel to me), but someone on another site posted it for me to see.

2:19 PM - 23 Jun 2014
Atticus Finch @wbballhoopscoop
Tennessee Lady Vols are looking for a guarantee game on December 3, or November 23. Contact Michael Beaumont. Thanks!

Thanks for the confirmation, DeerPark12. I didn't know what the time frame for scheduling was, but what you say always seemed more sensible.

SmallVol#1, your memories of Middle School are better than you think. Atticus Finch is the protagonist in the novel "To Kill a Mockingbird."

If he was alive today (and real), he might be an 80-something year old lawyer (just to bring everything back to the Vols).

What did he confirm? I can't find a post, unless it is the one about UNC being on the schedule.

Off topic I know, but: Didn't care for the book and never could get through the movie. Don't know why, I read the complete works of Shakespeare one summer (@8-9th grade) and a lot of Chekov; really enjoyed both, if I could get through that, "TKAM" should have been fine. My all time most hated is "Main Street" by Sinclair Lewis, ugh! I never could quit on a book, but that one almost beat me. Literally counted the pages and forced myself to read 50 a day.

My fault for being in a hurry and not quoting.

Does anyone know when the official schedule will come out for this upcoming season?

No idea, but I got this posted on another site,

"UPDATE 27 June 2014
Texas released their non-conference schedule. Tennessee will travel to Austin to play Texas on November 30, 2014."

Still have no idea who dropped us (see original thread...re we were dropped) or if anyone even did.
