Maybe they'll outplay their rankings.

Phil Cofer averaging 15.3 ppg, 12.3 rpg, 3 bpg and hitting 70 pct FGs and FTs.

Larry Austin is piling up stats and just won an MVP of a holiday tournament and there's a nice interview here talking about his season.

I know counzo has a lot of haters but he has actually recruited well.

He's recruited really well. Everyone always says "yeah but his 1st 2 classes were awful" not really he got Richardson and Stokes out of it. When Pearl only had Childress and Chism that could even stay on the team his first 2 classes.

And thats without an NCAA appearance too. Would be nice if he started proving his teams get it done.

He's only had one true year to 'get it done'. We don't need to go into full motion about the god awful roster Martin's first year but Martin should prove it this year. You can't really give two years as a reasonable amount of time to "get it done". Lets see what he does with a real roster before judging.

Nice thread OP, hows CJ Turman doing?

Nice thread OP, hows CJ Turman doing?

Could only find stats for one game with Turman. He scored 12 points. His team - Morgan County in Madison, GA - is dominated by a 2015 PG, Tookie Brown. Brown scored 35 in Morgan County's opener. Brown took an unofficial visit to Tennessee with Turman the weekend C.J. committed.

Glad to have an eyewitness show up in the thread. How is his game shaping up, specifically outside shooting? That was about the only "hole" the national guys were spotting in his game. Seems big, strong and active. Really like his "going to Tennessee to win championships" attitude.

Really like Cornish attitude but that gives such bad memories of John winchester

So far his outside shooting was decent. His strength is driving to the basket. The team he was playing was severely over matched, so I couldn't get a good read on him vs someone up to his talent level. He would have been in a tough game last night, but the game was postponed due to a leaky roof

He will have a big test in Jan when they play St. Augustine and Holy Cross. Will be able to get a better read on him in those games.

Cornish has about 100 lbs on Winchester. That was one scrawny dude. He left all of his talent in Connecticut too apparently. What a disappointment.

Not comparing them as players.....just remember the interview where he stated he and Watson were coming here to win championships.

I love when people say we can't become a national power. The same thing was said about almost every national power at some point. Plus we just were on our way, until Chef Bruce decided to have a cookout. Is Martin the guy to get us headed back to where we were going? Who knows, I do know he overachieved year one. Year 2 was a bit of a disappointment. IMO Year 3 so far, he made me wonder a couple times, but he is showing a willingness to change his philosophy and that is encouraging. I am cautiously optimistic at this point. Whoa I got a little off point there. Lol Basically saying we can't or won't be a national power, is just silly.
