From Rob Lewis on how hard Tennessee will pursue Henriquez..


Fairly hard IMO. Obviously, Looney is the top target, but with him coming in for his official this month, I would say Tennessee will have a good idea of where things stand there early enough to move hard on Heriquez if they miss out on the big prize. I can remember talking to Adonys a long time ago, last fall when Tennessee had first offered and he seemed to have a lot of initial interest. Wouldn't surprise me to see them get back in the mix and pull a visit.

So seeing as how he fell quite a bit in the updated rivals rankings I'm guessing he's a Tennessee lock.

However our ESPN ranking would be through the roof as he's top 50 on ESPN lol

I'm just gonna talk to myself in this thread lol...hoping we do pursue adonys hard. He would be the best "scorer" and "shooter" of this class, and would create a very balanced class offensively/defensively.

Agree if we miss on Looney and Adonys is on board, sign him up. I wonder if bigger schools will get back involved. 247 show coaches visits from KY and Louisville before he committed to Miami. He also holds an offer from FL. I am curious how hard Eddie Munster is pursuing?

I'd really like to see us get Looney but if we don't then hold that last spot either for a great player we get in on late or just hold it for next year. However, Henriquez seems like a good get. I guess I could get on board with signing him in that 5th spot should we miss on Looney.

I'm not sure he's "only" a take if you miss on Looney. Rob Lewis said if both Looney and Black wanted on board the staff definitely would make room. Henriquez is not that far off from where Black is ranked (according to ESPN).

I guess it depends how the staff views him...do they see his evaluation on par with ESPN (a top 50 player) or agree with rivals (a guy closer to 150).

Wasn't he recently rated in the top 70 for rivals before dropping to 131? Maybe his stock has dropped for a reason. I don't know. I think there's room to take 6 but I don't want to take them just to take them.

If Stokes goes pro and we graduate 4, then we have 5 spots. Taking 6 would mean just one more lost to attrition. That's very plausible.

If my math serves, we'd only graduate 2 the next year. Pops and Rich. Hubbs could possibly go early. That would mean 3. So the 2015 class looks to be just 2 to 3 signees. A small class. It wouldn't bother me if we carried an extra schollie into that year.

The other side of that arguement is maybe a 2 man class would be beneficial for trying to land a star. If you're trying to land a 5* (and you're not a blue blood) it may be easier if you only have to focus on signing 2 guys. This year Martin had to spend alot of his staffs time at alot of players games...if you can just target 3 or 4 guys you're chances of landing those players goes up exponentially.

He might have had a UF offer at one time; he doesn't anymore.

I think UCF would be UT's biggest competition if Martin chooses to go after him.

I'm curious to watch where we turn if we miss on Looney. Obviously I hope we don't have to find out and we land him, I'm just curious what route the staff would go. They've slow played alot of quality guys they likely could've had because of wanting to wait on Looney.

Yeah I'm nervous to see how it turns out as well. Maybe they have a backup plan we don't know about. We won't be scrambling as much as we did with Austin but still could turn out not as good.

Will be before his high school season starts. Looked up their schedule from last season and their first game was Nov.13th. I'd say it will be around there.
