You obviously don't get it and I don't care enough to explain it.
Not sure if the Unsers were bigger (Bobby, Al Sr, Al Jr.) vs Mario, Michael, John, Marco.
Mario's brother Aldo raced and IIRC at least one Unser was killed in racing maybe 2.
As for better? In wins definitely (9 to 1 at Indy). I bet Andretti's are close though in laps led. The bad Andretti luck at Indy is well documented. Compare that to Al Sr.'s miracle 4th win. Mario won everything so I'd argue he was the best of all in the 2 families. Michael won everywhere but Indy - he was dominant in CART vs Al Jr.
Both are important families of open wheel in the US. Hard to say one was bigger or better than the other.
Jimmie would kick all of their butts.
Umm...no.
He would easily manhandle the mediocre foreigners in Indy Car nowadays. All the great Indy racers are gone. Danica won a race in Indy car, but she can't win a NASCAR race.
I'm sure Jimmie would love to have a car that handles better and goes quicker.
I'd love to see Michael Schumacher and Jimmy Johnson do the Indy 500. Schumacher would kill them all, but it'd be fun to watch.
If the foreginers in Indy were great, they'd be in F1. It pays more and has more respect. If the Americans in Indy were great, they would go to NASCAR because of pay and exposure.
There's a reason why Danica went to NASCAR. Indy car isn't the racing it use to be when the andrettis, foyts, unsers, or even Scott Pruitt was in it.
The foreign drivers who can't make it in F1 go to Indy. It's funny how a NASCAR guy finishes 6th in their first race.

She won a fuel mileage race with half the competitors at Long Beach. Not exactly the most convincing win. I'm still convinced she got "the call" to drown out Champ Car having their last race.

If the foreigners in Indy had money, they'd be in F1. Put Scott Dixon in a McLaren since January and that car would be much higher on the grid than it is now. Aleshin beat Ricciardo in a straight fight in FR 3.5 after being dumped by Red Bull. Once get past the Raikkonen level of drivers, IndyCar's best are just as good and probably better.
Back to the 500 - it was by far the best race of the day. Monaco was once again the world's fastest parade laps while Charlotte demonstrated that making a NASCAR race longer just makes it less dramatic.
RHR taking it to the grass on the back straight was worth the price of admission. Add to that the "screw your blocking I'll just pass you on the outside going into Turn 1" action shows that the 500 remains the greatest spectacle in racing - too bad people aren't watching.
