Orange chrome helmets and face mask with Smokey Grey power t and stripe to go with the Smokey Grey uni's.

I think the Smokey Grey uni's definitely needs more orange with it. Jmho. Go Vols

Not going to happen...players and recruits love them ...most recruit pics are taken in Smokey Grey...you probably should content yourself with them being used in only 2-3 games a season.

Only? That's ~30% of the season. That's the equivalent to a baseball team wearing alternates ONLY in 50 games. Or the basketball team wearing them ONLY in 10 games. That's a lot when you only play 12 games, and 6-7 at home.

otherwise take the nike sign off the thread and uniform and it looks like some crap you find in the clearance section at target

The orange jersey on the right looks too Texas orange to me. Might be all the gray or my monitor.

Love the left side uniform design. I thought last year's gray jerseys would have looked great w/ orange pants.

Agree w/ the post that didn't like the checkerboard sleeves. Reminds me too much of Kentucky's jerseys (but using better colors, of course)

On the helmets, white w/ an orange stripe and gray trim on the right, orange w/ a white stripe and gray trim.

Awesome sample size playa. FACTS need a better control group than TWO...if you're going to prove....CURSE. :w00t:...also, we were not only competitive in those two games...WE SHOULD HAVE WON! What colors were we sporting when we got PLASTERED by Oregon,Bama,Mizzou and Auburn?...we should get rid of those first. :ermm:

Here is a concept I did with a Nike Uniform. I mixed the smokey gray with the 2006 home alt jerseys. Newer number font and subtle inlay on the wide leg stripe. I could see this as something that Nike would do and would pass with most of the fan base...and yes an alt helmet. But what do y'all think should go on the side of the helmet? I like the idea of the state flag logo in orange.

I love how everyone says "the orange is wrong" "that's Clemson" "that's Florida" "that's Texas" "that's Oklahoma State"

Most of these are amateur mock ups, possibly done with amateur software, within relatively quick timeframe. You can all be rest assured, nike and Tennessee will get the colors right. Sheesh. They are merely meant for reference. I for one don't care for the majority of the mock ups, but I am certainly appreciative for the people who take the time and effort to post them for everyone else's enjoyment (read: outrage).

IMO, Nike will leave good enough alone. The orange and white that we have grown up with and love will remain (generally) unchanged. Similar to what Florida, Alabama, notre dame, etc. have done. Home and away will stay the same. As far as alternates go, stick with the grey. I like it. Keep it similar to what we did last year. Base color of grey, orange numbers. The original mock ups in this thread incorporate too much white and are too busy. I subscribe to the KISS method. Keep It Simple Stupid.
Regarding helmets, I wouldn't mind seeing a matte grey with gloss orange stripe and gloss orange T with the smokey greys. Or, matte orange with a gloss white stripe gloss white T. You could also wear the orange helmet with the creamsicles against bama Kentucky or candy. I would also like to see the both teams wear their colors for the Bama game regardless of location.

And, I wouldn't mind the incorporation of the old school VOLS and Davy Crockett logos...

I have faith that Tennessee will approach alternates, and the nike collaboration, with good taste. Don't fail me...

Edit: after looking at the original mock up the first one would be ok, but drop the checkerboard shoulder, and stick with (mostly) grey pants
