2018 Oscars

The Shape of Water was really good, better than Get Out and Dunkirk IMO. Those are the only three I've seen, but it seems as though The Shape of Water and Three Billboards are the favorites for Best Picture.

I agree. Blade Runner 2049 was the best movie I saw last year. It looks like it was nominated in every technical category though and it deserves them all. Deakins should definitely win for Best Cinematography. I saw "The Post" and thought it was boring. I didn't really care for "Get Out" either. I liked "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri", "Dunkirk" and "I, Tonya".

I would like to see:

Best Picture: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Best Actor: Gary Oldman - "Darkest Hour" I didn't see it but he is long overdue.
Best Actress: Margot Robbie - "I, Tonya"
Best Supporting Actor: Woody Harrelson - "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri"
Best Supporting Actress: Allison Janney - "I, Tonya"
Best Director: Christopher Nolan - "Dunkirk"

It was one of the more visually stunning films I've seen in recent years. Deakins deserves it for sure. But I wouldn't be upset if Hoyte van Hoytema wins it, either.

Shape of Water if it wins best director not surprising because the movoe could have been a laughable awful movie.

Also I'll be astounded if it doesn't win more than 3 oscars because of having the most nominations.

Never saw anything really special about Get Out. It was entertaining but best movie? It's a long twilight zone episode.

I have always enjoyed the Oscars because they help me learn more about movies I hadn't heard about before. That being said, Moonlight winning last year over La La Land was just absurd.

I hope Oldman wins Best Actor this year to make up for it.

Waiting on pins and needles to hear what all of these very educated people will say during their acceptance speeches on Sunday. I’m sure #boycott something will be trending .
