Politics have become so lazy that its no longer about you but how bad the other guy is. The sad thing is the general voting public responds to that much better than an actual platform of what you are going to do.

Not sure about that. If you can win without really putting your plan out in full force its much easier to defend something you didn't promise to do later on. And if you have to you can hide behind the other side blocking your efforts.

We no longer have leaders looking to thrive in regards to the country, but survive and thrive personally. We have accepted that as just the way business is done, which is why it's probably not gonna change regardless of who is in charge.

Eh. Its an easier game for the politician. If you can cast the guy you are running against as Hitler or the anti christ, you don't have to win their vote. All you have to do get them to vote against the other guy.

The only thing fixable is the american voter holding politicians accountable for themselves and not a sales pitch against someone else. Apparently we don't care enough to do that.

Our voting system (by that I mean first past the post) directly leads to, and protects, the two party system (and the negative campaigning that arises). It can be addressed. I do agree too many citizens just don’t care.

I don’t see many Rs calling for protests and eliminating law enforcement for everywhere except where they live. I agree both are elitists but one at least doesn’t play you for a fool in front of your face.
