Every POTUS in my lifetime has been undermined by the opposition party. One of the reasons this us vs them shat we do is pretty stupid

How many have had a 25th Amendment coup plotted by DOJ officials against their Presidency? How many Presidents have been secretly recorded by the Deputy Attorney General?

Does anyone have an explanation as to why early votes are considered to favor Ds and day-of voting favors Rs?

Kind of what @Rickyvol77 said, plus I think conservative people just have more of a traditional disposition and want to vote on the actual day. The big expansion of early voting periods is relatively new, and Republicans stereotypically want to vote how they've always done it.

Early voting is dominated by people who might have a hard time getting to the polls; that group leans Democrat.

Absentee is fine, fill out an affidavit and sign attesting to your request as a registered voter. Signatures compared for verification.

Mail in ballots with none of that is an invitation to corrupt the process that has been enacted in some areas for this election and none before it.
