Big cities rely on government services. It has probably been like that since colonial times and before... probably since Roman times even. That is probably why they came up with the electoral college in the first place.

Looking at the maps, it seems Trump has won 90% of the counties. Dems just getting those big cities.

That's the way it is. The country is seriously fractured in the worst kind of way. Regionally you can fix by divorce, but urban rural is real civil war material. With the divide between factions growing daily and no clear way out, it has all the markings of getting really ugly.
