2020 Presidential Race

Look at Fox calling these republican races so late. Up by 60% with 77% in and it just now gets called?

The uncertainty caused by mail in ballots works both ways. In several of the key Midwest states, Pa in particular, they have just started counting the mail in ballots. By state law they couldn't until today.

This was the worry that Trump would jump on his lead and try to stop the counting.

In places like Florida they had already counted them, and so at the start Biden had a lead. As the votes cast today got added in, Trump closed the gap and overtook him. Its the reverse in PA. Trump has the advantage now because they have only counted today's votes. When they count the mail ins, Biden should close that gap.

Its going to take several days to know who won.

Win or lose, the relative lack of movement in the electorate is a clear rejection of the far left.

I watched Juan struggle with explaining the Trump phenomena.

My best take is that people are tired of people telling you whatever they think you want to hear then doing something else. For the most part, what Trump has said he'd do - he's tried to do even when unpopular. I'd bet most of his supporters are turned off by his gaffes/unforced errors but his resistance to follow the political wins and to stick to the things he said he'd do is what makes him different than every other politician.

I feel pretty comfortable with Biden taking PA. Trump got the early lead due to the way they count, but every major urban center that leans heavily blue is still under 20% while rural areas are all above 75%.

While Trump was hammering FL with rallies, Joe focused on PA... where he is again right now.

Joe. Will. Win.
