Has our defense been weakened due to someone voting a particular way? I would think it would still be possible to follow orders and vote Democrat.

Like I said, I grew up in it. No, I haven't served directly, but any military brat gets a taste. My dad had a hard time turning off when he came home from the ship. It was not uncommon for him to talk to me like I was one of his sailors.

Probably not, but mostly because warfare has changed. I'm not sure the current generation could storm the beaches of Normandy, or live in the jungles of Vietnam for any prolonged period of time. But they wouldn't have to. Every new generation is a bit softer than the previous one.
