Making the comment that the military of today is not the military of yesterday. As a whole, today's military is more effective because of technological advances, but individually, they're no where near as tough as the military of yesteryear because they HAD to be tougher. That doesn't denigrate the soldiers of today.

The BS about people complaining about how the military isn’t as hard and tough as it used to be reminded me that this came out today.

So you were doing what exactly when you said this?

I'm just curious if you are familiar with the changes to the military in recent years even since your period of service. There have been many radical changes just since I served (85-97). The barracks are dorm like now, the training days have been shortened, no more "shark attacks" during basic training, etc. All of these changes have been for the "emotional well-being" of the soldier. These changes have also been implemented to help recruit those that would never enlist under tough conditions. Can you imagine what shock they will experience when the time comes for a real ground war? If you get a few minutes, watch actual videos of the tender approach during the initial shakedown at the Army intake centers.

And there's a very good chance it happens. Dems will be scorched earth to get back at the right. Besides Harris and her agenda. They would love nothing more than to remain in power. Hillary was their golden goose after Obama there was no way she was supposed to lose, once she did and they regained power they aren't going to give it away easily.

I think Kelly will lose bc Trump backers loved her and I don’t see them coming out in droves now that he’s out of the way. But she’s got a decent shot.

I’m just going to say that in the Army view Fort Hood and it’s senior leaders don’t need to be in the news for telling soldiers to go kill themselves on a year that Army suicides are at a new high.
