I watched the original Nixon/Kennedy debates and decided it was a waste of time. Haven't watched one since. Debate is a misnomer in the context that it's been applied to presidential debates anyway.

I would have each side bring a chalkboard and outline their points in a debate instead of the talking points and catch phrases. I would like for AOC to explain the basics of Economics 101 if she ever had a debate or present a presentation how we could eliminate fossil fuels without placing a huge financial burden on the world. It would be laughable watching her try to explain it.

I have said it before, but we are going to long for the days of Pelosi when she loses power. As gin soaked and partisan as she is... When AOC has real power, we are ****ed as a nation

The late 50s seemed carefree to me; but when you are a preteen with few worries and lots to do, it that probably played a big part. It seemed like 1960 plus or minus a couple of years would maybe be as good a time as any. I was pretty apolitical back then, but I think Kennedy's assassination broke something in the country. Technologically I'd say the pause button would have come much later - but before technology became the new fashion trend - gotta have the newest phone kind of thing.
