2020 Presidential Race

I completely understand why people may not like Trump, but I will never understand why someone would vote for socialism over a booming economy. I will never understand why people will vote against peace and prosperity
Hey I gave you some bad information on Texas restrictions. If the hospitalization rate stays above 15% then occupancy for ALL businesses is cut back to 50% not just bars. Abbott is adamant we will not shut the state down again but at the same time that is his metric. It isn’t administered state wide it goes by regions too. So the whole state wouldn’t go to 50% if El Paso stays above 15% for example. Misunderstanding on my part of what was impacted. Cheers.

Watching Trump supporters, especially on Fox News, turn on AG William Barr has been a lot of fun. Barr has been nothing but subservient to Trump, but because he won't echo Trump's claims of fraud in the 2020 election, he is now portrayed as an agent of "the deep state". Comical.

And, as importantly, who is going to fix it? The federal government?

I think the fix may well be publishing some commercial spots that detail the steps taken to protect the election. Idk why Georgia hasn’t done that. Just publish a damn commercial that says “they said our software switched votes. Here’s how we know it didn’t.” “Krakhead says we didn’t do a hand recount. Here’s exactly what we did.” “They say we need voter ID; we have that.” “They say we need to signature match. We did. Twice.”

At the very least, putting out a weekly 60 second PSA debunking whatever nonsense is coming at them would identify the level of security that would satisfy the people having the meltdown.

Spoiler: there is none.

No, it wouldn't. Those people are going to believe whatever Trump tells them to believe.

Thanks for the clarification

Your pretend ignorance that this election is still a giant screw up can be added to the stupidity.

Must request a absentee ballot to receive one.
No voting in person if ballots requested
No counting until all votes in.
No stopping once counting begins.
Count doesn’t start till both parties reps are present
All collection, control and counting to be done by the USMC.

For starters we could just use the Florida system and work up to the rest. Instead of the cluster**** of penn wi mi ect ect ect.

Well, the states run their own elections, so it's a legislative process that makes their rules for better or worse.

To develop a national standard seems doomed to fail.

And for the love of G@%, why would you want Jarheads counting ballots? Substituting the bi-partisan ballot counting with military under the command of POTUS... just hell no

The other stuff sounds pretty sensible though, but states which have mailed everyone registered a ballot (historically) aren't going to change that, just because some people cry fraud.

Well, that's why we have to suspend the Constitution once martial law is declared. Then, we put in a new electoral college that will be based upon the number of Cracker Barrels in a state.

In this scenario, Florida would have the most electors, 60, followed by Texas with 53, and Tennessee at 51. Since there are 663 CBs, you'd need 332 CBEVs to win the presidency.

States without a Cracker Barrel would have to get one before being re-admitted to the Union.

That would be helpful. But as far as paid media goes, there's not deep pockets on the part of the voting machinery or election commissions to mount an aggressive PR campaign to counter the conspiracies. It's kind of like hospitals trying to respond to COVID misinformation.

Yep, but we already know that if Trump suggests Barr is part of a conspiracy and if Lou Dobbs suggests he might be compromised, that is taken to the bank like Barr's version of the Mueller report...

Wait..

That's what I mean. The people saying the current election was a disaster--are they in favor of the federal government taking over and telling every county how to do its election?

Of course not,..well depends on who POTUS is maybe and who you are asking.

I say no way Jose or otherwise.

There should be the same standards for every state and county in a Presidential election, since it affects the whole country. I see no problem with letting the states run all of their other elections by whatever standard they choose.

So who agrees on these standards, and who really believes an agreement could be reached?

I'm just saying what I would think would be fair, since the Presidential election is the only one that everybody can vote in. We can't vote for a Senator in Montana.

I don't think that is an unreasonable goal. States need to make it clear how the vote is secured.

The paper trail needs to be 100% by next election, as well, and I'll give kudos to the Trump administration for working hard to get it to 95% this time (even if he fired the guy he asked to lead that effort). That was the right priority.

I say go back to the way it was years ago when I started voting.......with paper ballots. Also, photo i.d. for everyone.
