He is the party. If Republicans are smart and care about their political careers, they'll back him til the bitter end.

Your presumption is correct: Donald Trump could, indeed, cause the end of the Republican party.

The GOP lost the 2016 election by 3 million votes. The GOP lost the 2020 election by 7 million votes. This is a real trend.

At this point, the GOP is the de facto minority party in the United States. It largely represents the views and opinions of a collection of shrinking demographics here: White. Conservative. Anti-gun restriction. Anti-abortion.

The new America is none of these things. If the GOP fails to change and embrace these *realities*, I suspect it will go the route of the Whig party and a new party will emerge from the ashes as Trump burns it all to the ground.

... and what a fitting end that would be for Donald J. Trump: The man who destroyed the party of Lincoln.

Lol, your premise is flawed at best. He's just as likely to end the democratic (communist) party. When are folks going to wake up and realize that America's government is among the most corrupt in the world? Don't like Trump, cool. Because he's on the opposite side of this, corruption is being unmasked at a rapid pace. This is a good thing. It's a bad thing for democrats. Communists thrive on corruption.

Planned a 3rd party vote against Trump, pre primaries. But when the dems picked Joe, I was just "oh, ok".
His official statements and actions usually tick off the far left more than moderate R's.

Of course voters and leaders of the new right won't agree. But their 100% litmus test and "the Borg" style of running the party, makes that impossible for anyone.
Hell, a lifelong Republican refuses to commit criminal election acts, he gets the boot and the rino label. (And Tucker? ...just wow).
When a party becomes that radicalized, anyone outside the inner circle will be communists etc.. I'll obviously have disagreements with a President Biden but the fear mongering definitely falls flat.

And yet the Trump loyalists can't fathom that any Republican would still gravitate closer to center, but instead would rather keep themselves busy playing fraud frenzy.

Why pay any attention to what Trump is doing with the Pentagon etc, when the "news" drops that AG Barr among any Republican, not willing to sell the fraud conspiracy, are likely compromised.

Deplorable, just doesn't quite capture the spirit of those so eager to parrot the daily propaganda intent on irreparably destroying our democracy.

Can't be overly proud given they do so in secret. Hiding in a corner wetting themselves in fear of the Mad Tweeter and the cult of personality, but at least they're there.

****The moves being made to handcuff the economy and national security, are beyond deplorable. All in the name of a "Republican" leader that has donated more money to Pelosi, Weiner etc., than this board's dems combined.
All together, it makes the ultimate example of putting tribe above everything else, including real conservatism and even country. Been a terribly shocking thing to return too. :/

I guess if you’re a life long Republican then you can be turned off by its direction but you can trust me as a life long Democrat my party lost its soul years ago. We Democrats are the kings of radicalizing. Leaving the Republicans to join the Democrats over radicalization is..........ignorant at best.

The way it should be. As with most things Trump is his own worst enemy. When they cant get the paperwork right, bring up evidence from the state they are filing in, or just cant submit real evidence, it's the job of the courts to throw out this bs.

His lawyers are acting like these are their typical civil cases where frivulousness flys. It doesnt.
