People noticed, they just weren't as concerned because he wasn't doing widespread harm to the nation.
Going forward, never-Trumpers will just bask in the obvious correctness of their position.

When he was on ET talking the Apprentice, or Miss Universe, or on Fox News as a pundit, he could be easily ignored/avoided. Not so if he's all over the news talking about 2024.
