2021 Lady Vol Recruiting Thread

i guess it’s hard for people not to think of her going from 25 down as not dropping ... she was 25 at one point and that’s what people saw so even if a new recruiting service picked it up they dropped her down from where the previous people had her...

It’s probably even more confusing because it’s still hoopgurlz under the same thing on espn...

I understand that, but there's a big difference between comparing different service rankings and someone evaluating her, rating her #23 and then re-evaluating her and deciding to drop her down into the 60s. I don't know if the new service had rankings before they started publishing them on ESPN, but it could very well be that they always had her ranked much lower just as PN and ASGR did.

This is why i go watch the players some of the top players case and point, They are players in the class of 22 that are better then the class of 2021 right now and i can name a few. Some talked about Tamari not being ranked top 30 i think her ranking was about right.

i can remember her being injured both her junior and senior years too i think... so i wonder if that and playing for their mediocre team did her a disservice ...

anyways i feel she was about right too probably was a top 5 post in that class though ... she was ranked 10th post

True ! i`m glad she is on the team, Yes her offense needs work and that will come this summer with camp. And to me without her in the middle we would be lost some of the games we won.

that girl is solid and a beast! she is built for the SEC and i hope she does track this year and dominates

Track is a big sport in texas and if she can dominate their too in track we know we got an athlete on our hands this is from a track coach...

No, I can't really say that....Striplin is going to give us something we haven't had in a very long whole,,,,A scoring power-forward...And you have to see Puckett in person to appreciate the build on that kid. Built for speed and power.

I know I was on the original boat for Miles, but I have to see what Coach K will do with her before I get back on that boat. I am an impossibly hard coach to impress and if you ever unimpress me, you have your work cut out for you to get back in my good graces. Sorry, not sorry

Honestly, i think your feelings are hurt at the way she reacted to what you said... I have learned that they are kids and we as adults need to be the bigger person. I am not saying let them get away with murder but as coaches we are the ones who are supposed to help them grow.

I really hope you don’t abandon every kid who doesn’t impress you or makes a wrong move.

You can be the bigger person in the situation jumper... if you are a coach a true coach you know you just can’t give up on a kid because they upset you.

I think I've shown I don't do that. I have backed Jordan Horston through her downs and ups and still back her 100%. She and her Mom have stayed the course and I have done the same...I don't turn my back on any player, until they turn their back to me, and then it's on! , or should I say,,,it's off!

Every player except maybe Miles don't know about her average over 20 ppg and double digit rebounds and most of the detractors say against weak competition so we'll see when they get here. I think it is hard to average 29 a game in any league.

Remember the posters who were saying they weren't impressed by freshman Sarah Barker from UGA? She was the Alabama Gatorade Player of the Year (over Striplin and Puckett), averaged 23 pts and 10 rbs game as a HS senior, and wrapped up her freshman year at UGA averaging 5.1 ppg, 2.7 rpg and shooting 28% from deep and 33% overall. And this is a player that was deemed better in her state than 2 of the incoming Tennessee recruits.

The #'s posted here for the recruits are great and all, but it is highly unlikely that this will translate to the P5 college level and most certainly not as freshmen. Players like Bueckers/Clark are the outliers, and no...I don't think Tennessee got 4 outliers in the same class.

The only thing about her is that she was ranked number 80 by Olson in that class. Being Gatorade player sometimes doesn't mean much Emily Saunders got that honor in West Virginia. All freshmen are wait and see even the top ranked. Some players ranked a little lower become big stars and vice versa. I have no idea how these players will turn out had great stats in high school sometimes that means something and of course a lot of the time does not.

I didn't mean everyone I should correct that, everyone besides who we are expected to lose (Rennia, KK, and McCoy). All we would need is one to be an outlier imo. Especially if Horston, TK, and Rae make that next jump.

People like to throw around the contender thing and I think we are heading in that direction, but many forget in the past 20 years the champions have been Us, UConn, Baylor, SC, ND, Texas A&M, and Maryland.

The teams consistently getting the top Talent (Stanford, Texas, Duke, Florida State, Louisville, Oregon) have yet to win titles and only a few have reached the Final Four in the past 20 years. As much as there seems to be parity in season. There is still the same team/teams in the Final Four/Championship games.
