I read the other option would have been to choose Charlotte as a host site but with NC State as the host. I’m not really sure why they wouldn’t do that since it wouldn’t technically be a home site for NC state and it’s closer and easier to get to from Norfolk than Columbia.

Guys I am heartbroken today! First I got booted off the porch @ LNS on Friday night, apparently the big wigs are wining and dining that night. As a consolation prize I got Saturday tix for both sessions, section B, row 4. My wife just reminded me that my daughter has a dance recital at 7:00 Saturday night. It would kill her if I even thought about missing it. She works pretty hard at it. Man if I didn’t have bad luck, I wouldn’t have any luck.

That's because either ODU didn't put in a bid to host or because they don't meet the facility requirements to host. I'm guessing SC was probably the highest RPI team closest to them that could host, which is probably why they were selected.

This recently happened in softball, too, where #14 seed Duke went to Georgia for their regional. And Georgia won that regional, BTW, and is now in the WCWS.

I thought our region was tough but as I look at it more, we are in for some damn good baseball this weekend. Man some of these regionals are gonna be dog fights and I can’t wait!
