Averaged 5/5/4 in JUCO, doubt he’s bringing much to the table

If that is true, it is exactly why you rarely see a JUCO player make a significant impact at the D1 level for a high major program, and why sifting thru the JUCO ranks is probably not the best use of our resources for recruiting a post player in the 2021 class.

The upside is far more limited, I'd guess. I have no doubt Pember or Plavsic could go average those kinds of numbers in JUCO ball.

Why add another of those guys though, strange mindset, especially as he’d only have 2 years....seems like if you’re gonna reach might as well be a freshman you feel you can develop. Or go with a graduate transfer like the guy from Yale, seems he’s likely to have a bigger impact than that JUCO would.

It’s not like there’s only 1-2 kids available each year, we’ve got 6-7 months to go, many more options will become available...and with the eligibility rules this year there likely will be more options even than in years past.

Yale guy looks like a great candidate, hopefully we go after him. I’m assuming he is well disciplined and would be a perfect 5 next year for us.

I’ve not watched a second of his film, but on the surface yes, looks like he would be a tremendous addition.

He took 2 other OV’s as a recruit - to Dayton where Archie Miller recruited him, and to UNCW where Kevin Keatts recruited him. Not sure if those ties mean anything now but wouldn’t seem like NC State will be a very desirable transfer spot. Maybe Indiana they have a pretty good recruiting class coming in and should be decent. Will likely have an opportunity in the post in the following season

The early signing period is right around the corner and unless there’s a surprise reclassification (which isn’t outside the realm of possibility) it looks like the Vols will just be adding Kennedy Chandler and Jahmai Mashack, which isn’t a bad haul at all when you’re talking about the top point guard in the nation and a top-50 shooting guard you’ve pulled out of California.

Yet I still feel a bit disappointed after all the highly ranked post guys who had us In their top 2-3 then went elsewhere. A real testament to high fat the program has risen over the past few years!

Part of me worries he never buys in and ends up being a wasted spot. I guess a player of his caliber is worth the risk, but still.
