2022 > 2023 Regression in every facet of the game

There's a lot of grown men on here tonight who need to cut out the liquor and go to bed. I've never seen such hysterics.
It’s crazy how fast we went from being fans of the product we’ve seen over the last 20 years to being spoiled brats

Every position looks the same or worse so far through two games. DL is maybe the exception.

This team will not win 8 and you can take it to the bank.
Proof Hooker was elite, and. Hadden can't turn his head and look for the ball. Except one time and got an int

To me the biggest differences are no deep passes and 8-26 on 3rd down so far on the year. No quick strikes and no extending drives by converting on 3rd down. Going to be a long year if we struggle with those 2 every game.

Offense was definitely going to take a step back with the loss of a Heisman caliber QB, the best WR in the country, another all-American WR, and a top 10 draft pick at LT.

That said, Joe Milton was badly off tonight and the WRs have been disappointing. Our corners are a major liability, they were getting beat all night by FCS players.
Heups first season in the Music City Bowl I watched our Corners and DB’s get torched.
I believe it was Slaughter that I genuinely felt bad for. Purdue went after him period.
Watching today, I cringe a little. I can see how teams are going to expose the corners and they’ll get used up unfortunately

We have gotten 2 steps better on Defense and have taken 1 step back on offense.
Remember.... first 2 games every season Vanilla. We will know whats up next week. We have Florida to prove it then UTSA to clean it up before our revenge on USCe and defense against Bama. After this week outside of UGA our schedule looks a lot easier. People are freaking out after a 30 point win where the refs robbed us. If that fumble is properly called this was a 45-13 game. Then the other lame calls they made.. the incompletion on squirrel the no-call on the PI in the endzone and even though it wasn't directly the refs the Keyton fumble came off that no call on the AP fumble. A lot of lessons were learned and the whole playbook opens up next week.

Florida looks bad.
Bama for the first time I can remember has no run game and also no QB.
USCe is looking like they did last year but we got them early.
A&M looks meh

I think worst case 1-2 of those and a rando catch us slipping and we win 9 games reg season.. best case 10-11 reg season. We (and no one else ) is beating UGA as things stand now

Out of all the takes I’ve seen tonight, this one’s the worst. Defense looks much improved. Without looking I know we had atleast 5 sacks and 11 TFLs. Offense played their worst game and including 5 drops by receivers in the first quarter. Questionable penalties and we should’ve had an extra turnover and still won by 27. In no way did our offense play good today except for Jaylen Wright and there’s no excuse for that. But our defense looks like a different team compared to last year. I look for them to bounce back next week.

This was a concerning and weak performance. That being said we were clearly scheming for Florida, didn’t plan for AP much and it was their Super Bowl.

CBs are still poor in 1:1 coverage. Not looking for the ball and bad positioning. UVA was worse than we thought.

D Line is good and still a TBD. We allowed bad numbers in the box so not sure.

O-Line is a concern. Not great push against a lesser opponent but a lot of time for Milton to throw and some good running plays.

QB. Dunno. Too many dropped balls to be sure. Not HH for sure but could still be very good.

WR - WTF? This was supposed to be a strength and we have more drops in two games than all of last year. If we don’t get more out of this group then I’m looking forward to next year. Step, the F up.

Bottom line is we did not show up at all.

I’m convinced some fans live under a rock… who on our schedule looks unbeatable to make the claim that we will only win 8 games lol… sc uk mizzou vandy tamu utsa Bama UGA Florida I have watched them all and none of them look great… just relax it was a very disappointing game but it is a long season and we have the right man… if Pruitt can lose Georgia state n get 8 then Heup a much better coach can get the team to improve and we can win every single game on our schedule…

Well. No. I've been critical of Banks but the D is better across the board. The RBs are better.

You are such a ray of sunshine. This will either be an off game that we all laugh at in a few weeks or it is a harbinger of a tough season. Jumping to negative or positive conclusions is just stupid at this point. And... you can take that to the bank.

Man these threads drive me crazy. Why can’t so many fans seem to understand such a basic fact. If quarterback play is bad… You’re all fence looks bad.

The team as a whole wasn’t bad at all. The team hasn’t regressed. We are deeper at just about every position on the field. Skilled guys are incredible. Squirrel white is able to do some things in the slot that Hyatt wasn’t able to do. Thornton is a legit threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. Bru is always going to do brew things. Kieten is great. Jaylin Wright is great. And the defense is on another plateau from even the best performance last year.

The team isn’t winning by massive margins because we don’t have good QB play. If QB play is bad, it doesn’t matter if every other offensive player is spectacular.

Heupel has forgotten more about (Football) than most of us will ever know but his affinity for Joe Milton just blows my mind. A guy only hast to play about three or 4/4 of football for you to recognize whether he has that it’s Factor. Just the Moxie to remain super poised and see everything develop. we all saw really poor QB play the first time Milton took the field three years ago. He might have a slightly better game here or there, but he is wildly inconsistent with his accuracy. And I’d add that… He seemingly throws almost every pass with different velocity. He almost never puts loft on the ball that the angles require it. I think that’s the reason we saw a few drops today. Sometimes it’s 130 mph fastball. And sometimes he tries to lol but typically resulting in (under throws).
