2022 Recruits

I am going to go watch her play today

Coach, if you get to talk with Ace, let her know the Lady Vol Board loves her.....She would be so great to have bombing from behind the heartbreak line.

two more the 3rd one is playing for notre dame and the 4th is getting recruited highly!
Yeah I remember, I think the mom, saying that none of her girls would go to Tennessee after the whole debacle.

Was the one that went to ND a McDonald's all American? Or just highly recruited?

I saw her play a lot. I was very surprised she had an offer from Notre Dame. Very good high school player. But expected her to go to a mid-major type program.

Oh ok, I was thinking with that offer she had to be McDonald's or really close

As it turned out, she was at War Games in Atlanta this weekend, the next time I will be able to watch her play is in two weeks...But I will definitely give her the message.

She was a top 50 player on HG, so at least Olsen thought she was a pretty good player.

I thought she was overrated and was ranked higher because of her last name. Again, she was a very good high school player. I hope she has a good career. I am just not sure her game will translate to the highest level of college basketball.

Coach, it appears that coach Kellie is loading up on offensive talent....To get back to becoming relevant again, we have to be a high scoring team with a high octane offense.....That's what the top recruits want, shoot and shoot again.

The rules have been changed to favor the offense and the teams that can score seem to get the close calls...The days of pressure defense solely wining championships are fading fast...

Defense is still important, but being able to score is now the most desired trait in a recruit...And Ace is a SCORER!!!!

Yes, I did get to see her last week and agree that she can play,,,it's the two-sport thing that I can't get past...Personally, I want my potential recruit to be BB exclusive by her sophomore season if I am recruiting her for a next level.

I can't say this is a factor for Coach K, but it would be for me.
But that just one of my idiosyncrasies.

Definitely need some shooters and you’d expect some of that from the 2021s. Given their rankings, it seems the question is do they have enough speed and quickness to play at a high level.

so you wouldn’t want Kaiya who was a state champion track athlete? You toted Miles she is also a state champion track athlete.

Both Puckett and Striplin are volleyball players and Striplin got All star and one of them got all state.

Also Karly weathers a potential LV is a good volleyball player and a heck of a b-ball player... just curious as to your take.

also a couple of my favorites were two sport athletes Glory was a track athlete while Izzy was a volleyball player and that really showed on her defensive side of the ball...

Damn coach...Would you prefer she plays for UConn SC, Baylor, Kentucky, Texas, or Oregon? Do you want to watch her bomb us out of the gym because she can also hit a softball when the basketball season is over? Pruitt has players that also play basketball, or are planning on it....

Like I said, GT, it is one of my quirks, not everyones.
I am a firm believer that teams are made during the season and players are made during the offseason.
If they have no offseason, they're not going to progress like those who do.

We won't agree on everything Gt and that's ok
;o)

You're alone on this one coach....

I am also not done with it.
I have yet to see her in a full game (or as it is with this league, they play two games per set/day.
Nor do I know if she intends on making one of the sports exclusive.

The book is not closed, it's just flipped over and the page is dog-eared.

settle down, ol friend

If I were on the Lady Vols staff, Avery Strickland would be a must-sign recruit, because she, IMO, is absolutely guaranteed to be mature enough to make working as hard as possible to become the very best Lady Vol she can possibly be her No.1 priority in her young life.

I don’t know how many people understand just how rare a quality that is today. Too many young people lack the maturity to understand that placing their highest priority on looking good in Instagram pics and personal video blogs isn’tgoing to help their game — getting in the gym and getting up shots WILL.

Players that want so much to prove they are worthy of being Lady Vols are, sadly, too often passed over. I think a player like Avery Strickland would be, in so many ways, a major boost to the program.
