2022 U.S. Senate Races

It depends on how severe it is. I have it, my sister has it, and my mother has it. Required a procedure to manage my mothers. My sister is on meds for it.....they seem to work for her. Mine is so mild and infrequent that I don't require anything at the moment...that's at least what I am told by the doc. One of my dads closest friends has it and he went a long time without treatment (like Fetterman) and it did damage to his heart. I know what atrial fib is bud.
I hope that you and your family members are able to cope with it successfully. I mean that sincerely.

Have been tested, do you have sleep apnea?

I don't have sleep apnea thankfully. I have worn a heart monitor for a few days before though. Your test come out ok?
I had Afib for a long time. Went undiagnosed for 10 years or more. Never could get an EKG when it was happening. Long about 2006 I finally got a ekg at my docs office when I was in afib. Next thing I knew I was in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. Freaked me the ef out. After about several bouts with different meds and 20 lbs later my heart doc sent me to a sleep doctor who gave me a sleep study. I was severe sleep apnea, stop breathing 59 times every hour. Turns out sleep apnea is a major cause of Afib.

Went on cpap and didn't tolerate it well. Gave me sinus infections, take it off in my sleep, ect.. Sleep doctor sent me to an ENT. She said she thought she could cure my sleep apnea by removing my tonsils and cleaning up my sinuses. She said my tonsils were some of the worst she'd ever seen. Sure enough after removing my tonsils, my sleep apnea was gone. Gradually my episodes of afib went away. I occasionally will still go into afib every 2-3 years. I had first episode a few weeks ago in probably 5 years.

Wow! that is fascinating. I am glad you are better and found the root cause. Mine appears to be genetic. Crazy how seemingly simple things can totally wreck peoples health.

Who's your cardiologist? DR Cox is a world leader in rhythm issues. He even has a procedure named after him, Cox Maze procedure. Really good guy. He's at UT.

I have never had to get that far yet. I will definitely keep his name in mind though. My mother wound up at Vanderbilt. Thanks!
If you have episodes of afib, even if it's short spells, you should really get checked by a cardiologist. The risk is stroke. Everyone has a partial 5th chamber of the heart (its more of pocket) called the atrial appendage. During an afib episode, blood can pool there and there is a possibility of clot forming. Obviously, a clot is bad as it can end up in the brain. It's nothing to fool around with.

You're right. My episodes generally last 2 seconds....3 at the most.

What are the predictions tonight? I'll go Warnock 52/Sheriff Herschel the Vampire Killer Baby Daddy Walker 48

Consensus is Warnock by 3, but Wasserman thinks it may be tighter. Will we get our first CTE senator?

Warnock will fare a lot better than Bill Bates did. This gets called before midnight. Warnock 51.7 to 48.3.

It's early, mostly Fulton County so far...

That brings up a very important question.

How are votes counted..usually the bigger counties are the last to report. Are MIB counted first or last or pre counted going into Election Day.

I voted..asked an election official how turnout was. She said strong early voting .she was a cute raven as well.
But I got there at 8AM and I was vote 88...Smaller preceint

Actually drove to my early voting location from Nov..about 5 miles way, and got redirected to my actual voting location .5 miles away from where I live..lol
