2023 Heisman Discussion

Bowers doesn't impact every play like a QB or RB does ..that's why is a a long shot .only 2 or 3 TE has ever won the award....
I understand the point you’re trying to make, but Bowers isn’t a normal TE. I do agree that his role will make it hard to get votes, I just don’t think it has anything to do with his play to play impact or contribution. He is making an impact on a very high percentage of snaps. Aside from getting touches he does much more to help the ball move whether blocking, drawing coverage, etc…

I do agree that he is a long shot for heisman bc his final stats will not likely garner the votes. It’s possible that he makes enough ridiculous plays in clutch moments to grab some serious votes but not likely. But it doesn’t diminish his impact on the field. Dude is absolutely one of the best players in the country.

Penix still #1

Who yall got after that?

Gabriel, McCarthy, Travis, Daniels, Maye & Nix are the next QBs.

Caleb Williams pretty much out of the conversation unless SC somehow gets their sh1t together.

Any other non QBs? The Texas and Kentucky RB have been elite.

Looks like odds Makers have J.J. McCarthy.....in lead over Penix..
Will McCarthy get bucked by the Stallion?

The media is definitely running with the "integrity of the game" angle. It's going to bring down Michigan's (and McCarthy's by association) season or at the very least leave them with an asterisk beside their record.

Harbaugh will get by on plausible deniability. Say his "scouting department handles it" and "he didn't know".

It will probably lead to a rule change, but before that...

Michigan can stretch out the response for months after the notice of allegations from the NCAA.

B10 has no reason to take action at this point. It's a lose-lose situation for the conference and Michigan.

Harbaughs only vindication at this point will be him holding up that NC trophy. Then he will dissappear to the NFL, never to be seen in the college ranks again.

Michigan will suffer for a few years after the NCAA slaps em around a bit.

Teams will get smarter about how they scout opponents.

The end.

Here's what one prognosticater said:

Michael Penix
Jayden Daniels
JJ McCarthy
Marvin Harrison

Penix if UW win out.
Daniels if LSU wins out
Whoever wins the big game at the big house and is better beteen JJ and Marvin.

IMO.... MHj. He is truly generational and a can't miss future HOFamer.

Looks like after this week Nix will once again betting favorite.

1. Nix
2. Daniels
3. Penix

At this point Nix & Daniels have had better seasons than Penix despite Penix leading CFB in passing yards.

Nix is completing 78% of his passes to Penix's 66.5%. Nix also have 35 TD to 2 INT, whereas Penix has 30 TD to 7 INT. I think it's clear who wins that match-up and at 11 games into the season, we can say have a pretty good idea of the final results.

So at this point it's Nix vs Daniels.

Daniels is completing 72.5% of his passes for 36 TD to 4 INT. He's also run for 1,015 yards, AV 8.5 YPC, 14 TD. Compare to Nix who has 125 yards, AV 3 YPC and 5 TD.

Seems likely it goes to Nix if ORE wins out but Jayden has had the biggest impact. Tough decision.

Just for fun let's add punting stats, Bo has one punt for 37 yards. It was a very effective punt from mid field.
