Opinions and speculation are not a problem if honestly and accurately labeled as opinion and speculation. What is problematical are statements made as if they were factual, but never accompanied by verifiable sources.
We have all read posts that start off, “It's a fact that…” or “I know for a fact…”
Funny how the authors forget to share just how it is that they were convinced, and still expect the rest of us to just obediently go along with the assertions.
Let's take the common one: Recruits, we are told, read this board. Well, it's possible, and also possible that they don’t. But let us assume that they do, just because we are gullible kindhearted and trusting. Next, let us assume that some highly sought recruits, for whatever reasons, take their sweet time deciding on a momentous decision: where to go to college and play basketball, and maybe rake in a bag full of NIL loot. Finally, remembering that we are persuaded that ‘recruits read this forum’, let's call them names, like “confused”, if they (1) don't decide to come to UT, and more importantly, (2) don't decide when we would like them to decide.
Let us hope to holy hell and back that a certain recruit does NOT read this board.
