2023 Recruiting

Seeing a lot of players that are not in the hoopgurlz top 60 that are dynamic players. I'm really starting to question the list accuracy. I am sure it is really good for maybe the top 10 to 15 players, but is suspect after that.

They (rankings) are not that accurate as we all know . Carodosa was not listed till her junior year and not higher till her senior year …. Ended up a top 5!!!! Howard for Kentucky was ranked 35 ? Rae and key in the 40’s … I could go on and on but not necessary. They usually get the top ten right but after anyone under fifty could turn out good ? Miles was a HUGH surprise for me just considering her ranking. But I am a believer in Kelly and their ability to find good players that fit and we will be proud of ! JMO

Sole Williams is also a combo guard. Many predict she will be a point at the next level. She has Tennessee on her short list. I think Velez and Rosario will play together at the next level.

This is not the first time I have heard Velez and Rosario as a (want to play together)? Both ranked…. Rosario at 13 and Velez at 37 ! If we could get both ….. I say great ! Even if we don’t NEED Velez ( because we got another player we wanted) , she would still make a good addition to the team and she would be a good supportive player! Love her defense and ball handling skills !

Yeah she would be great at the 1 or 2. Honestly I want her more than anyone else in this class - I think she would thrive in Kellie’s defensive minded system, but it will be hard to beat out Stanford from an academic perspective.

Has Ashlynn released a list of programs she is considering? She is my favorite for 2023 too.

Out of the 8 players or more we are recruiting for the 3-4 position surely we'll get a top player. Looked at most of them and all are really similar in ability. Center I bet we'll need someone to commit before April or we'll be looking in the portal for more than a one year player at that position. Of Course Ashlyn Shade could be a 1-2 for us. Be glad when some of these players start cutting down on their lists to below five teams lot easier to see who were strong with in 2023. We could also be looking for a Grad Transfer at point guard if Walker is not coming back for another season.

We may see some action after the season is over. Wish we had a Justine in this class she has been committed for about two years now.
