wow. I guess we’re getting Elite prices for an elite program. We don’t want a corporate fan base and I’m concerned that where we might be heading. The average Joe’s and Jane’s are getting priced out. The hornet’s nest might become a thing of the past. I hope I’m wrong.

I went through old emails from when I went in the past.

In 2018 it was $40- CTV's first year. As a bonus, here's the link announcing it: Tennessee Baseball First Pitch Banquet Set for Jan. 27 - University of Tennessee Athletics
in 2019 it was $75: Tennessee Baseball First Pitch Banquet Set for Jan. 19 - University of Tennessee Athletics
in 2020 it was $80
in 2021 it was virtual
in 2022 it was $100
in 2023 it was $150

For those that have been...how is the food? Standard banquet stuff or pretty good?

(Just trying to gauge if we should go out before, had enough work/fundraiser events this month that i'm burnt out on rubber chicken.)

It’s upper level banquet food. 😀🍊👍👊😃. They do a great job with the event, and usually have a guest speaker. CTV introduces the players and ample time for a meet and greet before dinner. Also a nice silent auction with some really cool items.

With all that said, I bought my First Pitch banquet tickets today. The BaseVols have a special place in my heart. What can I say…. 🍊🥹👍😀👊😃🍊

Food was good, just not a huge amount. They had ham & goody cookies on the table, so that is a win.

Unfortunately, many player parents don’t attend anymore due to the price increases.

I think if you live out of town as a player parent after you go once or twice it is tough to spend an additional $350 to meet your player and his teammates when you will spend several thousands in the months to follow to be at most if not all of the games. We figured up for something else and we stayed in AirBNB's 30 plus times last year for baseball and other events. That gives you an idea of what it cost not counting gas or flights and other stuff.

Agree. We’ve been to several and we aren’t going this year. And I dont even want to figure up the amount spent on travel over the years. I’m afraid to know the amount. Haha.

My house would be paid off with the money spent since Zander was 3 years old, but I am okay with that because Z is happy and playing baseball.

Yes sir. It’s our annual Daddy/Daughter event. It was overall a good time. Got to hear from Andre Lipcius and Ben Joyce regarding their experiences in MLB and their “called up to the Big Show” stories. John Wilkerson was the emcee and was his usual great self. Sat with Charlie Taylor, Cal Stark, and Bryson Thacker — nice young men. It was packed—largest attendance by far in the last 3 years we’ve been going.
