2024 possible schedule

Why? Someone has to be removed. I personally don't like ANY permanent rival games. I understand the history. Sometimes history just needs to be history.
I have completely come around to this point of view.
Playing both Bama and Vandy every other year is not such a big deal.
The Playoffs begin the last week of August.

So which hypothetical schedule is tougher?
2024 Florida, Auburn, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Kentucky

Or 2025 w/ UGA, LSU, Texas, aTm, Miss State and Mizzou

I think w/ the current landscape the 2025 group is a little more difficult because of UGA, LSU and the Texas schools .
I think the 2025 schedule is considerably more difficult than that proposed 2024 schedule. If the scheduling falls that way, I also think that playing Bama in Neyland during the years in which we don't play Georgia will be a huge benefit to us.

At least we finally have a good coach heading into this new gauntlet of a conference slate. Another coach from the same ilk of the previous 4 clowns would’ve been disastrous.

Totally agree, why should we be the only ones playing Bama, UGA, UF every year. UF has been down but they are a coach from being back on the way up.

We suffered through Bama's entire dynasty.....let someone else suffer through UGA's. Georgia certainly doesnt play a tough schedule. That "anyone, anytime" mentality isnt how they have won 2. Would you rather have 2 national championships or a reputation of playing anyone anytime?
I don't get the continuous jibes about UGA's scheduling choices as far as the teams they actually have a choice to schedule. The conference schedule is what it is, but both UGA and UF schedule out of the conference tougher than anybody in the SEC year and year out, certainly tougher than we do. They both play P5 in-state opponents, plus another one typically. UGA scheduled Clemson the first game the first year they won the NC and Oregon the second year. Is it their fault, the East is s**t? We are in the East. On that point we need to have done better if we wanted to toughen their schedule. Again, this all boils down simply to Alabama is better than Auburn as their permanent, and there's no doubt about that but Auburn's also beat Bama more than anyone has since Saban has been there, so it's not like they are terrible usually, the last two years notwithstanding. I suspect Freeze is going to get Auburn moving again, that guy won at freaking Liberty, he'll probably do well down there. Hell of a lot better than Harsin I'd imagine.

Yeah, it’s not really GA’s fault that the schedule seems weak. I think this new upcoming conference slate is going to make it pretty tough for everyone in the SEC most seasons though. And between you guys, GA, USCjr and KY, the current East does have more bight than in previous years I think. FL seems down right now, but they likely won’t stay too down long.

I also agree about Auburn, I’ll be surprised if Freeze doesn’t do well there. He will likely have Auburn back in the mix sooner rather than later. I expect the SEC to continue to be the premier conference in CFB for the foreseeable future.

People are always going to complain, sometimes with reason and alot of times without, but I also think everyone playing everyone else twice every four years is going to be more equitable. The higher number of rotators will reduce imbalance in the permanents.

Removing UGA in that schedule is dumb.
In what way? They will not be one of our three permanent teams and they really are not remove from our schedule. They will appear the next year. The schedule is not as dumb as your statement.

How's this gonna work come P/O ranking time?
It looks like with some of the stuff I saw in this thread even some of the top schools could be looking at 3 loses making easier for MI/OH/TCU and such to breeze on in

This is where the SEC office needs to flex its muscle to do more than finesse Bama's stay at the top.
If our conference allows ESPN and the B1G to control the narrative in the future, the Northerners will have 6 teams in the bigger playoff brackets based on their bloated win percentages each season.

Agreed. It looks like pretty much every SEC team is going to be battled tested and worn out to get into the P/O while you have other conferences with maybe 1 tough game all season able to breeze on in. SOS is going to need to be adjusted or something and the SEC is adding TX and OK to make it even tougher.

ESPN and the B1G will no longer affiliated with one another after this coming season. In fact, it may be the games this season. They have the new contracts w/ CBS and NBC to go along w/ the Fox (Big Noon “We’re ruining big games by making them kickoff at Noon” Event).
