Because Nixon did it and it worked so well. I was a little tyke, so I remember nothing about it. If the R's were smart (they really haven't shown it yet) they would flood the TV ads with the effects of the last price controls that were instituted in the 70's and tear that idea down immediately. The hard part would be getting the MSM to even discuss it for fear of putting Harris in a bad light. I guess it's too much to expect people actually do a little history research on their own.

GenXer here too.. I remember being little and waiting in the car in long lines to get gas and you had to be pretty strategic with your grocery shopping from what my mom says… lots of casseroles and shopping at certain times because it would be the crap stuff left

Even including the Rasmussen outlier, the polls are trending heavily in favor of Harris. She hasn't even had the benefit of a convention "bump" yet. Not even the most optimistic of Democratic Party supporters could have realistically hoped for polling data like this a month ago. I didn't think she had a chance, but now, I think she will win .... and Brit Hume is absolutely right. That has nothing to do with Kamala Harris, and everything to do with the Republican Party being wed to Donald Trump.

My hope is that Republicans will nominate him again in 2028 at age 82. Let's see him lose a 3rd straight election.

The hope of anyone with a lick of sense who cares about the country should be that DT crawls in a hole after he loses this election. Only people who care more about the Democrat party than they do the country want to see him lose a third election.

The only beneficiary of Trump running yet again is the Democrat party, the party that you’ve bent the knee to. The country in no way benefits from it.
