2024 Presidential Race

I saw this elsewhere ...

Trump has survived more assassination attempts than Harris has campaign interviews.
Trump has survived more assassination attempts than Harris has received democratic primary votes.

He also invaded North Korea alone

“Gains” are one thing. “Meaningful gains” are something else entirely.

I’ll believe Trump has made “meaningful” gains with the black vote when I see it.
This is what I'm talking about ....

Black men do not turnout to vote, in the same numbers that black women do. So the polling data will often be skewed for black voters as a whole. All of Trump's gains that you see in the polling data among black voters are with black men; not black women.

You want to deport LEGAL immigrants? Which ones? Everyone that has immigrated here legally in the last x number of years, like Elon and most of Trump’s wives, or just the dark-skinned ones?

Well, depending on where they are in a legal process, absolutely a possibility.... its called a generalization. Whether they are white or black doesn't matter to me but I don't see the point of importing more problems from Haiti or any other **** hole these people are coming from. We have enough people like you that has doomed this country to worry about.

MAGA when school children are mowed down: Guns don't kill people, people kill people.
MAGA when Trump is a target: Guns don't kill people, rhetoric kills people.

Nevermind the fact the Trump is the biggest offender of spewing hateful and violent rhetoric.
Is it MAGA “mowing” down Chicago inner city kids & families. Been this way for decades but you’re silent I bet. Are we forgetting Obama and Clinton’s “hateful violent rhetoric” in the beginning or are you selective in manufactured rage?

Bet you wished he was dead. Sorry, for your loss of him not being dead…be in peace during your mourning.

Answer to the last question is poverty. And why is there such poverty? Well, the French.

After Haitian independence in 1804, the Haitians were forced to pay millions and millions to France for France's lost property (much of it compensation for "lost" slaves.) Without this payment, France would not agree to diplomatic recognition of Haiti. In the weird politics of the time, other nations wouldn't deal with Haiti lest they piss off the French (who still had power on the world stage at that time).
So, Haiti agreed to pay the equivalent of millions and millions of dollars to France in exchange for recognition. In the 1800's, that was real money.

The Haitians were essentially forced to choose between their present and their future. It is a bargain they continue to make today.

I seem to recall the Haitian debt was not paid off until after WW2. That is a lot of debt, and a long time to pay! But, people will pay what it takes to try to ensure their freedom.

Sadly, this debt, meant to secure freedom, also created voids. Lack of infrastructure, education, health, etc., By the time the debt was paid, the damage was done. The lack of development and production has spiraled the economic system into total failure. There are very few places like Haiti when it comes to survival. Long term planning is unheard of. Everything they have has to be imported. So, even if they have a dollar, that dollar soon leaves the country. It doesn't stay there to be spent and to grow their own economy.

I flew near the Haiti/Dominican border once. The Dominican side was full of trees. The Haitian side? Dotted with smoke rising from the charcoal fires cooking goats in the countryside. Why? Haitians have raped their resources to try to survive. The Haitians can't even grow trees for tomorrow because of the need for cooking fuel for today. Heck, when we constructed buildings in Port Au Prince, we had to rent the lumber we used to form and pour concrete. You couldn't buy it because it was so scarce. In Cap Haitian, dollars flowed into the Dominican while goods flowed into Haiti to be consumed. When the goods were gone, so were the dollars. There is nothing produced.

The debt burden faced by Haiti led to a catastrophic economic system that made way for despotic rule for much of the last three quarters of a century.

Haiti isn't Haiti because of debt during the 1800s. Haiti is Haiti because the people there are crap.

Most of these people have never really experience life outside of the United States or where Americans are not fully taking care of. There is a large part of the world that will eat anything that walks, swims, flies, or crawls.... and in any condition what so ever.

I tell people many times on this forum that they haven't experience how life is outside America, they have no idea that they have no idea.

There is nothing wrong with the geographic area known as Haiti, so what is the factor that makes it a terrible place?
I’ve been to Haiti (on a cruise) lol.. it’s beautiful but scary, poor, and crimey lol.. the ‘if it flies, it dies’ mantra is shared by my Louisiana in laws, and me now as well lol

There is no argument, you know its true. That is why you came up with all this he brought it on himself.

Woman: A man pulled me into an alley and raped me.

Excuse making investigator: It is partially your fault for being beautiful and walking alone at night.

Bystanders: Huh?

I've been there under not so good circumstances, not the worst I've seen (parts of Africa I was in...oh boy) but basically sub-human on many levels. Its funny but most of the places they tell me to hate, Eastern Europe... I generally enjoyed and most cases have a better overall (in general imo) standard of living than here. All the places people try and convince is just misunderstood are complete **** holes with **** hole people.

A good portion of people in this country either don't know, don't want to accept, or don't care to know that a good portion of the population doesn't want to live like them. I always point people to the documentary of Empire of Dust on youtube for reference.

Their ballots sure seem to.....

One thing that is rarely taken into consideration by pollsters, is that while Republicans will occasionally shown signs of gaining traction with black men .... for whatever reason, and I'm not sure what to attribute this to, black men don't vote in the same numbers that black women do. So the gains you see in the polling data are not reflected in the election results with black voters as a whole.
Turnout would factor into the meaningfulness of the gains.

I've been there on 3 mission trips, one month each. My wife has been on over a dozen trips. Taking vacations internationally doesn't render an accurate perspective of the lives of the residents

Nope.

There’s not much that can be posted on here that will elicit an un-prompted rebuke from me. But you typed it out.

There is nothing “sub-human” about Haiti.
There is nothing “sub-human” about Haitians.

It is gross and disgusting when others on here say it about their fellow Americans.

And it’s gross and disgusting for you to do so above.

Don’t be gross and disgusting.

As far as modern civilization, parts of it are sub-human in nature. They are free to live like that, but it is what it is. Most people don't want to know the particulars.

Thank You. At least we agree on something this important. I've spent time there. My wife has spent exponentially more time there than me. We've camped with them. Spent weeks working with them. Most importantly, spent weeks getting to know them. Getting to know families, some nuclear and some single parent. Hell yes, they're smart enough to know how to live off the land. Most Haitians want to come to the US and prosper here. They know that's their best chance of having a fulfilling life.

Wrong.

There is nothing about that People that is “sub-human”. They are not less human than you, their neighbors to the East, or anyone else.

I don’t care what they are engaged in - it does not render them “sub-human”.

It’s about the nastiest, disgusting slur you can level at another human being.

I would imagine we agree on a great deal more.

Oh, I think they should live the way they want to live. When I say sub-human I mean what they want out of life is not what I would want out of life and how traditionally Americans were taught to live.

They are human as far choice and life, the way the live imo is not for me. I accept that, many of you guys don't.

They're living a disgusting life, that's not my fault. They don't really care. Heck, if they disagree they should just stay there. Problem solved.

Why don't they just stay in Haiti and prosper there? 😂

Okay, I’m going to rescue you here, a lot of Americans do not realize that a lot of the world doesn’t have electricity, doesn’t have running water, sanitation, etc.. and they don’t really care… I have travelled a lot and totally get what you are saying… even in parts of Appalachia, West Virginia, Ohio particularly, that is also the case.. when my husband worked there he saw people living in storage sheds, a whole family, no electricity, no running water… do they try and move somewhere else? …No. and ending their cycle of poverty and meth, that’s what it takes unfortunately.. getting out of that environment or fixing it somehow.. but nobody seems interested in doing that
