60 Minutes host tells Kamala Harris 'we're dealing with the real world' during grilling on how she will get a key policy through Congress

Kamala Harris appeared to struggle to explain her economic policies and how she will get them through Congress in an interview with CBS' 60 Minutes.

'My plan is about saying that when you invest in small businesses, you invest in the middle class, and you strengthen America's economy. Small businesses are part of the backbone of America's economy,' she said.

But when CBS' Bill Whitaker continued to grill her what her plan does and how she would pay for it, Harris didn't offer any specifics, just staying she knew unnamed lawmakers agreed with her.

'I'm going to make sure that the richest among us who can afford it, pay their fair share in taxes. It is not right that teachers and nurses and firefighters are paying a higher tax rate than billionaires and the biggest corporations. And I plan on making that fair,' she said.

'But we're dealing with the real world here,' Whitaker told her, asking her how she would get it approved by Congress.

'You know, when you talk quietly with a lot of folks in Congress, they know exactly what I'm talking about, because their constituents know exactly what I'm talking about. Their constituents are those firefighters and teachers and nurses,' Harris replies.

She also talks about creating an 'opportunity economy' for Americans to buy their first home or start a business.

Well, FDR following Hoover had something like a 95% gain in his first year in office, I am sure that helps skew the numbers run "since 1928." (Wonder why this year was chosen as the starting date, huh?)
And the first year of a dimocrat administration is usually reaping the benefits of the previous Republican Administration’s pro growth policies. Takes a few months for the Marxists to kill the golden goose

That looks completely legit
I think you used PF blue font.

What strikes you as wrong? This is a betting market, right? Not a poll?

I would not be surprised if the betting market is upping bets on Trump, thinking that if this next Hurricane is a monster that does a lot of damage, on top of what happened with Helene, it might adversely affect Harris' campaign. As bettors think that may become likely, they put more money down as soon as they can, to get the best return if they win.

Some of these people probably put a few bucks down on Harris back late summer when she was underwater.

They don't care who wins politically (for this purpose), they just want to make bank.

Serious question. Are the betting odds more reliable than polls? I'm not much of at betting.
I believe odds are more reliable because you have people betting their own money based on knowledge derived from talking to many people (Friends /family/ co-workers). I actually pay more attention to it than polls.

But, that is me.

FYI….RCP betting odds has Trump +1.5 today. First time he has been positive since the DNC. Mo is definitely with Trump.

It's wild to know that we have a vegetable as a president. Can't think, can't speak, isn't making any decisions. The VP can't speak, lacks confidence and is extremely awkward. She can't be trusted to do any interviews or take any questions from the press while running for president after taking over the ticket following a coup - she received 0 votes for the nomination. The press secretary is the worst press secretary of all time and just simply leaves questions unanswered and storms out of press conferences when she can't answer basic questions concerning the well being of Americans following a natural disaster. All of this while the admin is deliberately bringing in hundreds of thousands to millions of illegals from around the world to intentionally destroy the country. It's wild because no one outside of the right even cares. All you hear is, but, like, mean tweets.
