When Bezos bought WaPo, I kinda scoffed at the concern because one way or another, it was gonna be a rich guy. I was wrong. There is too much conflict of interest between the WaPo and Amazon.

I was out on the WaPo after they let Radley Balko go (maybe a Bezos thing? IDK). I'm always concerned about media bias, but I'd rather the bias come from the bosses' personal beliefs than what benefits their other businesses. That's a cesspool.

I'm not convinced that it is that easy to eliminate a vendor in a government contract bid. Have you ever been through one? I have, now none have ever been on the magnitude of the JEDI contract but all have been pretty open except for the emergency contracts, those are sketchy. Plus any potential vendor that thinks they were treated unfairly has the right to protest and ultimately file suit so no I don't think it would be easy for POTUS to make a phone call a kill a vendor in a contract bid.
