If you know going into a certain career what your max financial position will be, don’t complain. She chose that route, no one forced her into becoming a teacher. In general, I agree teachers are underpaid for the value they bring. It’s a little better if you take into account they’re working 10 months. The quality of teaching has gone down for sure though.
