Big trucks typically have 300 gallon fuel tanks and depending on the load can get 10-13 miles per gallon. So it’s feasible for a team making that run to do so without refueling and only making a 3-4 10 minute stops to swap drivers.

And they’re burning diesel not gas.

Regardless of the minutiae, fossil fueled trucks can go much MUCH farther in a single “refueling” than ANY electric vehicle.
And when the do need refueled, it can be done in under 10 minutes, unlike the literal hours it would take to recharge the electrical, assuming of course that the trucker could even find a charging station capable of handling the high current load required

He was talking about the expanded cabs because teams of drivers can take turns and the truck can keep moving with very little down time.
Adding diesel just takes a few minutes.
Recharging batteries would cause them to lose hours.
