I often shake my head at media pundits who talk about "dog whistles" directed at someone's "base." Besides the fact that it seems silly to have to "dog whistle" to any group of people large enough to constitute a "base", is anyone else as creeped out as I am that this guy was brought in to "code talk" to them?

And if he was "code talking" to anyone, can someone give me a single example? I watch a lot of football. I have changed head gasket, spark plugs, filters, oil, etc. on an old F150. I still have absolutely zero idea what the heck this guy is talking about. Anyone out there who can give me an example of what this master communicator secret weapon running mate guy supposedly subliminally communicated with me?

Finally, why should I be ok that he is essentially saying, "I was the right guy for the job because I am white?" It is appalling in every respect.
