2024 Recruiting Thread

UConn has parlayed those conference titles into many National Championships. Again, did she make a good choice?
What conference title in the AAC or Big East since 2016 have they parlayed into a national championship though LOL ? UCONN started falling once they joined the AAC smh the director could care less about women's hoops until they stopped winning Nati's .

Seriously. Imari Berry, Quadence Samuels, Ashlyn Shade Kk Arnold, Madison Booker, etc. It's more like let's see who Tennessee is recruiting then put out an offer because that has been the theme lately.

As ridiculous as that might sound at first, without Shea Ralph around anymore and with the budget issues Connecticut is experiencing, it's actually not beyond the realm of possibility that Auriemma could save time and money if he had the idea that other coaches were doing a great job of pinpointing the type of players he likes.

Or, it could must be that everyone wants these players. Period.

I think it’s the latter. If the players are good, all the top programs are going to go after them.

Of course. But I believe some people are under the impression that Connecticut is jumping on these top players much, much later than a lot of other programs are connecting with them. This is leading some to wonder if CT is intentionally letting other schools do all the grunt work and then swooping in last minute.

Morgan Valley is definitely not a Shea Ralph. I would not know who she was if she looked me in the face. Shea Ralph on the other hand if you know women's basketball, you know who she is. That is why I am surprised she hasn't been able to pull in a bit better recruiting class or at least some decent talent out of the portal this year. Vanderbilt's academic expectations may play a role in that too. Definitely a bit higher standard than Uconn. Melanie Balcomb used to dance around those expectations too but generally got some decent talent.
