That’s not exactly true. Most honors colleges allow students to create their own degree, including our Honors College. Dawn just hooked Joyce up with that program, and they assured her it was feasible. UT could have done the same assuming we have the requisite expertise to supervise her program. Additionally, UT is a top engineering program, so you could actually make an argument that Kiki might be interested here if we have the type of engineering expertise she wants.

I’m thinking more like she’s following Lazo to Knoxville but we will find out this week. He was the guards coach at MSST. Soon as our assistants were announced she entered the portal.

Good point. We do likely need some to move on particularly after Darby, apparently with Caldwell’s approval, announced her return. Hope we aren’t being overly generous with NIL to retain players we could recruit over.

We have enough roster spots and no recruits that we don’t really need anyone to leave. Some just won’t play.

The only player I would not mind moving on is Strickland (here come the angry Ace fans lol). To me, she just isn’t ever going to be at the level she needs to compete in the SEC. She tries hard, but there was a reason we didn’t see her much last season.

She would have done so much better somewhere like Chatty or MTSU. Just not a P5 caliber player imo.

Darby has a history of shooting around 40% from 3 when she’s hot, so even with her draw backs her shooting ability has always kept her on the floor. Defenses do have to respect Tess from beyond the arc.

Appreciate any insight on this...looks like we can have 15 scholarship players on a roster and our roster currently has 11 players.
So, this means we can only snag 4 from the portal at this point?
If that is the case, is there a world where CKC dismisses anyone currently on the roster after say workouts this week and then open up a few more open spots?

10 players plus Edie, assuming she is still not on scholarship. So we could take 5, I believe.

Another PG, esp an elite one, would be nice but IMO after a post the biggest need is an elite scoring wing.

Four good portal players, esp youngish ones, would be a great haul. Don't imagine there will be a roster crunch.

In case there was, I'd say Edie's spot might be in danger, but I hope not. Remind me, is she on scholly now?

Don't know if she's on scholly or not.
I agree, an elite PG would be nice.
I would also like to see us land a mobile, athletic big, like 6'5"-6'7, if they exist. A big who can move and handle the ball like Candace P and Nicky Anosike!

A really skilled, hopefully young big is an emergency need. After next yr, our only two posts, Jill and Karo, are gone. We'd literally have a roster full of guards with a wing sprinkled in.

I like Natalija Marshall. She would be a grad transfer, but there are so few bigs available in the portal upon my initial review. Moves very well and shuts it down in the post!

Any really good one would be nice. But we also really need a young one to watch and learn and take over whenthe post cupboard is bare in 26.
