Now I’m wondering if Nye’s still in play.

I truly think she’s already committed. Time will tell.

You can see what the plan is, we are essentially trying to have two TRUE starter quality players at every position. This staff is not jacking around, they are going and getting exactly what they need.

Latham, Nye, Spearman, Poindexter, Day-Wilson, McQueen

There are some other possibilities too. We could open up another roster spot by moving a player to preferred walk on and see if we can get them an academic scholly like Edie. Leave room to take one more young post player or wing.

Tulsa was ranked 79th

They had wins over: Florida, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Clemson

Got blown out by: Mississippi State and TCU

Interesting team but found ways to win. TP has some SEC experiences… wonder her stats in those

Arkansas Pine Bluff was 229
View attachment 635821Here’s their P5 games

Tulsa beat Clemson Poindexter had 26 and 5 so that’s against ACC quality players.

23 pts against MSST early in the season when they were playing super well.

21 and 5 against Florida

15 against TCU (leading scorer in a loss when TCU was healthy)

20 and 8 against Texas Tech

21 and 6 against Arkansas

19 and 4 against Illinois

Those were her numbers against all their P5 opponents last season. Pretty clear she can score against competition of any level.

No, it shows she can score against mid to low level SEC teams. The same teams we were told were nothing to celebrate when we beat them all handily last year.

That said, I like how she plays and looks alot and think that's exactly the type player we're likely to get. Wish she had more than one year left.

Wonder if we're still in on King. Is she a similar player?

Bringing those receipts! 🔥

My only concern is her shooting in most of those games.

8-22 and 3-10 from 3 against MSST, 6-20 and 3-12 against Florida, 6-14 and 2-8 against TCU, 6-14 and 1-5 against Texas Tech, 8-14 and 3-5 against Arkansas, and 9-21 and 1-7 against Illinois.

But she surely wouldn't be asked to handle nearly that kind of offensive load at Tennessee. Her usage rate was in the 98th percentile her sophomore year and 99th percentile this past year.

I would prefer King in place of one of the PGs. (Day-Wilson or McQueen)

King is a great rebounder. Rebounding translates, and you can’t have too many on a team when you’re in the SEC. Having great rebounders helps when shots aren’t falling.

I’m said it a few times but I’m not sold on King, 6’ forward with no outside shot. Doesn’t always translate that well to the SEC. I think we are meeting out Forward needs with Latham/Spearman/Hollingshed/Puckett

IMO Poindexter is a wing and King is more of an undersized post. Poindexter also shot 263 3's last season and King has never attempted a 3 in her career.

Yeah she’d take half that many shots at UT probably, but if she wants to win that’s what she’ll be willing to do. She’s the kind of player that can go off.

I see Kim using players a little like Vanderveer who would leave someone in if they had the hot hand. Soon as they cool off she would try someone else.

Poindexter is a true 3 level scorer who can also handle the ball. All very big positives.

Not very efficient I could see that being an issue.. she also is used to never coming off the floor. Those are 2 very big questions to her game

Kim isn’t building this team around one player, she is building it around 1 goal. To win championships. She’s looking for young women who want to do that and want to be part of a team concept and scheme that she knows works.

We are not going to be a one dimensional team. And Kim is definitely a “bad shot is better than a turnover kind of gal” would rather see us get shots up and give ourself a chance.

Oh I really like her it’s just questions she’ll have to answer… I could see her being a 10-12 scorer here great size and athletic

Don’t know about D but a huge depth piece… does she want to be a depth piece?

She played 34 mins a game…

Beers on a visit to Oklahoma, I think she would love it there. Norman is a great place to go to school.

She would be a big get for them coming into the SEC. They could really use a player with her size and strength.

Not a good fit at all… I pray she doesn’t. They are run and gun I don’t see it. Beers is one of the best halfcourt players in the country
