Are most of her two pt attempts get to rims? Do Ruby or Latham do much mid range shooting? Is it fair to say Ruby, Latham, Coop and Boyd are very similar players?

I really hope we get Ruby. She does have an air of could be special.
I would say yes and mid range 10 feet in. Quite a game similar to Horston in many ways.

Yes they are all very similar will probably see 2 and 2 on different 5 rotations

Latham the most posty of the 4 to Kaniya the most guardy I’d throw Wynn in there as well

U can clearly see her building her potential rotations and who will be fighting who for time

Definitely see it, but enough similar guards (if we get Ruby). We need a pg who can shoot and/or any 3 pt shooter/scorer. One more reliable scorer and I'll feel pretty decent.

Three point shooters Tess, Jewell, Sarah, and Kapinus if she comes 41 percent even if just 65 attempts. Guess at least last season you have to say she can make them.

Jordon had elite skillsets when she came to Tennessee and both she and Burrell were very reasonable defenders from day one. However, Jordan was a turnover machine until she was drafted as a pro. She managed to stick with LA because of injuries. Burrell was also a turnover machine while at Tennessee. Many times she played out of control. Kellie had a difficult time taming the team’s turnover issues. One of the things that made both draftable was they are big guards and play good defense with rebounding ability. I question Kellie’s player development skills because most of the team did not seem to get any better than they were when they came to Tennessee.
I’m just going to have to disagree there. IMO both Rae and Jordy improved a lot in four years. We should, myself included, go back and watch them as freshmen and then as seniors. It is too easy to forget what they were like as 18 year olds. I clearly remember Rae as a baby giraffe on ice as a freshmen and a bull in a China shop as s sophomore. For sure you could see the potential. But, their improvement, mentally and physically is impressive. Unfortunately both had significant injuries as seniors so we did not get the full benefit of their senior selves.

I think if we ended with Ruby we’d be fine but I do agree and I think LK would be perfect.

I’m not too worried about bringing in a reliable scorer bc of how our team will be run. We def have depth now tho

I don’t know much about either of them, just looked up the stats.

A lot of players that could really break out as juniors. Even if they had similar years to what they did last season your adding about 40 ppg and 25 rebounds so if our returning players could do the same that is 80 points which should be enough to win a lot of games. Really not sure were done with four might go another player even two. Were losing half the team after next year anyway.

It's definitely our new archtype. As you can see from the other answers, it's the "super athletic and offense should develop" model. Makes sense for where we are right now, there weren't that many "complete" players in the portal and we weren't going to get them anyway. But all these players are relatively young, have 2 yrs left and certainly all have great potential to develop further. Probably easier to recruit athletes and teach them to shoot than vice versa. Athleticism usually can't be taught.

The new staff seems to have done a really good job both in identifying and closing, though some of these also had previous connection to former staff. Which is really good, means they have loyalty to the program, not just the coach.

All that sunshine being spread, this archtype is why I was really hoping we'd get one more 3 pt shooter like Nye. Basically we'll have Sara and Jewel to chuck those 30 3s a game until and unless one of the portal players improves quickly. It's also what worries me when we get forced into a half court offense.

Still hoping we can add at least a good pg who has a good 3 pt %. So far I'd call the portal class (if Ruby signs) very solid but not elite.
Like a lot of this but I do think solid vs good vs elite is a bit of a fools errand. There are indeed truly outstanding players, like Rickea, that would be elite wherever they played regardless of systems. But it seems to me a player being in the correct system for them gives them the opportunity to be elite. CKC obviously has a certain type of player in mind and hopefully they will fit so well into her system as to be elite on the court. ESPN analysts be damned, except of course Draya and Candace!

1,000% this. Turnovers were huge, every season.

World Exposure Report is saying Denim DeShields to the SEC with a bulldog emoji but we all know how accurate he is lol.

Not sure if he means UGA or MSST but could see either going after her.
I would have loved for us to recruit her. If it js UGA, that will be cool for her family to see her play often. Either way happy for Denim!

2025 Cooper, Boyd, Strickland, Latham, Kapinus if she comes here, Whitehorn, and Spearman. Two scholarships to give so were making 2025 look a lot better than it did as well as this coming season. I think we'll do what it take to keep all seven of them here. Still might add more players looks like they have to be two year players to be accepted.
