2025 NBA Season Thread aka Draymond's Annual Wealth Destruction Tour

Are we still loving the JJ Redick magic?

They shot 23% from 3p and Heat shot 51%. 18% and 42% vs. the Wolves. 24% and 41% in the Suns blowout. They're just cold as hell. And 36% vs. 51% vs. Nuggets. Maybe it's on JJ that these teams are beating them at the 3p line, IDK.

*old as hell

Time has won. They are better without LBJ on the floor.

Lakers should trade LeBron if he is wanting that 5th ring. Trade LBJ to a team that he wouldn't be depended on to do so much.

As a Lakers fan it hurts me to see AD having a great season and staying healthy so far. It's sucks...

It may finally be true that time has won, but I can't agree they're better with him off the floor when we're talking D-Lo or Gabe Vincent is the replacement (or somebody who can't run offense at all).

“When James is on the court, the Lakers have a plus/minus of -132, which is the 13th worst in the NBA. An ever bigger sign that the Lakers are worse with James is that when he is on the court, their net rating is -8.15, but without him, it’s +6.54.”

Oh wow!

Dang

D Lo leads the Lakers in +/- and he's having a below average statistical season (ts%, fg%, 3p%, assists per minute, points per minute) 🤷‍♂️

@zjcvols if you didn't already listen to the BS pod with Russillo live in Denver, it was a Jokic love fest for 30 minutes.

And it was awesome. I think he’ll be in the top 15 when it’s all said and done. He needs one more ring to really cement himself. Hopefully Denver makes a move

So glad we didn't trade Kessler. His per minute production is totally back on track and Utah significantly increased his minutes. He's up to 29 mpg. Can't believe the Knicks wouldn't give up two 1sts, but I'm grateful.

I'm pulling for the kid. It's not his fault his dad is one of the all-time greats and the pressure he must be under to live up to that. Look at at Dale Jr. and his Cup career.

When NBA players finally figured out 3 point shots were worth more than 2 point shots is when NBA became a glorified 3 point shooting contest...

There are more 3p shots than ever, but I think this doesn't actually explain the game. The game is how do you get a good look? It's always been that. You gotta make the D break, to do that. That is where the fun is. Can your action force the D to help, and create a good shot (layup, dunk, or open 3). This has always been the game, more or less. It just used to be a big in the post who made the D break, which created a layup, dunk, or jump shot.

The NBA is gonna fade into nothing. I used to love watching NBA back in the day and even then really didnt focus in until the playoffs. I havent watched an NBA game in years.

Because you don't watch? It's crazy how much people conflate their own interest with the value of a thing. Did you see their latest TV contract? Ticket prices are through the roof, and they set the attendance record last year. The NBA is totally fine.

TV ratings are one metric. TV is a medium going through transformational changes, and we don't even know what the numbers actually mean anymore. Ratings are down vs. 12 years ago, and the $ is up 3x.

And as for @95 Vol Alum and the regular season interest problem...I agree there is a problem. I barely watched any IST this year, mostly because I don't have time with more of my interest going to CFB this year. IDK how they fix it. Maybe move the schedule. NBA should start on Christmas day maybe and IST is in February (before March Madness, and after CCG in NFL).

I think another problem is young American stars. Ant is the guy, but he's in Minnesota. Who else is there? Jayson Tatum is the most boring personality on the planet.
