Certain people just start hating when a player chooses to go somewhere else, but they will overhype a player that’s not very good if they come here.
I don’t count these games at all, Iv’e watched a lot of Brooks games in high school once I knew she was coming here, other players I liked before they committed elsewhere, are Zakiyah Johnson, Bella Hines and Jazzy Davidson, I wanted all to come here but we didn’t get them. It’s all about projecting talent to the next level which could be a crap shoot. Also, none of these games are going to give you much indication of how these players will do at the collegiate or pro level. None at all. These games are meaningless and not real competition.
So many of the greats looked “meh” during these games. I remember when folks (when Tennessee was the only online presence for women’s basketball) thinking Chamique Holdsclaw wasn’t all that because she didn’t assert herself or standout in these very all star games.
Many others who scored a lot of points or looked good in these games never did anything at the collegiate level.
Knoxville actually hosted one of the girls' high school all-star games with Diana Taurasi's senior class. I thought she was horrible; she shot like 1-12 or something, and Morgan Valley had a huge game. I remember thinking Valley was going to end up being the real star of that class...what a joke! (I was like 12-13 years old after all...but quickly learned to not put too much into these all-star games.)So many of the greats looked “meh” during these games. This is the condensed game couple years ago when the twins went up against Mikayla Blakes for the State title. Was a lot of fun to watch what stands out is how well the Pauldo twins can handle the ball and they are very good at getting to the rim for their size. You could see even the that Blakes was going to be a very good player in college and you could see that the Pauldo twins were going to be very good as well.
High School games always look like that and if you don't think 2 and 3 in black are college talented players your a poor judge of talent. Since they were the winning team and were the reason for the win.I watched the first half. It looked like 2 bad middle school teams. It was constant turnovers, out of control shots and missed layups. The refs could easily have called 15 more fouls. It was a hack-a-thon. Watching that half it's hard to imagine any player in the game, except for #1 in white, would ever play college basketball. Maybe the 2nd half was better
Why did they go silent? I still see posts that say the twins are too small.Lolimagine typing that a 5-Star PG #9 prospect and 4-Star PG #57 prospect couldn’t play college basketball because a half of basketball.. in which the game was close in that half and their team went on to win the game smh.
Many of these folks were quiet after the McDonald’s All-American Game for a reason. They’ll be quiet again following the BallisLife All-American game on May 3rd.
GBO!
The dumbassery remains alive and well.I watched the first half. It looked like 2 bad middle school teams. It was constant turnovers, out of control shots and missed layups.
