Ament is a wing guard and will need to play wing guard in the NBA at his height. He is considered a potential top 3 pick. That means he needs to play on the perimeter in college to prepare for that role.

He will be the starting 3 at UT if he goes there.

Cade Phillips to the portal

In no way does Vol fans want Cade Phillips in the portal. He's been unfortunate to have injuries pretty much every year since he was a top 50 recruit in high school. He couldn't play in the summer circuits & dropped out of the top 100. His improvements this past year playing through injuries was incredible & a life saver for our VOLS. he's in the rotation no matter who the Vols land in the portal. NO MATTER WHO WE GET LOL. And Cade fits into the Vol Hoops culture perfectly & is a great person & teammate. I'd personally be disappointed if he left as you suggest...but your profile does say "probably overreacting" ... so I'm guessing you're in no way serious

Freeman rebounded really well and his body looks more developed. I don’t see why he wouldn’t play the 4 on defense and we play 4 wide on offense like we did with JJJ

The best basketball team in the world right now plays Tatum at the 4. Same height as Freeman. Shorter than Ament. Yes, he is jacked, but he also plays at a higher level.

The best basketball lineup maybe ever based on analytics played Durant as the 4. He is tall, but not strong.

With Okpara as a really good help defender in the paint, I don’t see why we couldn’t get away with either Freeman or Ament at the 4 on defense. We’ll have the the bench to adjust as needed .
