California state income tax. Does not matter if they offer more. That show seriously hates the Vols.
If you’re single and in the highest tax bracket it’s 12.3%. So (hypothetically) if USC offered 3 million and UT offered 2 million he’d still be making significantly more (631,000 more) at USC

Presumably he’d be taxed less than that.

Without looking I’m confident it’s a progressive tax meaning the 12.3% would only apply on income earned over a certain figure etc…

So I’d assume he is likely only paying like $250k in California taxes

My humble opinion. Fans having the opinion that they would rather have Freeman than Ament is going to be looked back on as amazing humor one day. Especially because he was more prepared thanks to playing 1 season of D2 basketball. 😬🤣

Seriously. A consensus Top 3-5, expected one and done lottery pick who also happens to come from a family of humble, hard-working very moral people or a guy who had to go D2 out of HS, portal after a year and chooses Bruce Pearl over Rick Barnes because of "possibly having to compete for a starting spot". And people prefer the second guy? Funny

Correct. California taxes are higher for sure, but not quite as bad as they are made out to be. I’d say 95% of people don’t fully understand how tax brackets work.

They're called the "Legions of the Miserable" for a reason 😂

Anything over $1.4 m is taxed at the highest rate of 12.3% in California.

I have standards, Bat.

In football they wear helmets, are 1 of 22 kn the field and close-up shots happen less often.

Baseball they wear hats in the field and usually aren't shown straight on for long and a helmet while batting/running so that helps.

Ugly basketball players that get significant minutes are out there on display in all their hideous glory for everyone to see. They already have pituitary gland issues that cause freakish height and sometimes builds.....throwing extremely ugly in the mix is just too disruptive and makes you feel a little dirty when rooting for them. Fulkerson worried me in his Freshman season but he never got there, acne cleared up and he filled out and got it together. Coincidentally, he also stopped being a spazz and walked out.

Thank you for that, I’m certainly not an accountant, but I live in a no state tax state (Texas) and I don’t think people realize that unless you’re making 10’s of millions a year it’s really not a big deal.

Right. Only his income over the $1.4m is taxed at that rate. His income under that is taxed at lower rates per bracket. Which I presume that’s what you are saying and you understand.

I did the math it’s closer to $300k he’d owe. Big savings if he got married though. (Or maybe he is already. Who knows)

The amateur accounting staff at volnation regularly exaggerates rival taxation.

It’s the luxury tax on the yacht that will take him down.

Any news on potential visitors this week? I’d love for us to land Chaikin. 48% from 3 with multiple years left to play would be huge for us.
If he shot 48% from the 3, then he should have been the first pickup... Do whatever is necessary to get this kid... we're building the other pieces, it would be awesome to pick up a 3 sniper...
