2025 Transfer Portal

It's so unfair to say Tennessee "got pounded by LSU is both games we played them" when, in the first game we lost 87-89 on a last-second miracle shot, and then 77-82 with four of their final points being free throws the second game.

Yeah, we lost twice to LSU, but don't exaggerate.

I think he just means in the paint/on the glass.

Of course there’s worries with Barker. Her history is out there. I saw it up close at the SEC tournament last year and it wasn’t pretty.

But I can’t believe a straight shooter like CKC would take her on without being pretty dang sure it was going to be ok. JB needs to quit fooling and get it right this time if she wants a shot at the W. She has that much talent.

She seemed so much more level headed this season. Her relationship with Joni just looked toxic. Joni had no clue how to manage/develop a player of her skill level. Also felt Joni was so afraid of her leaving (news flash, she did anyway) that she was being way too permissive with her.

She was obviously on a much tighter leash at UCLA but got buried with their forward depth. Hard to beat out players like Dugalic and Gardinier but she held her own.

I’d love to see her finish her career on a positive note at UT.

Barker doesn't fit this system. She doesn't have a motor and her attitude isn't so lovely. She definitely can play. I've seen her during AAU playing for Essence.

Huh she does fit the system…

She can take you off the dribble, mid range, shoot the three, run the floor, great passer and REBOUND…

Can Coach Yo relax, please?

UCLA and SC make no sense to me either, but I guess if they're both after Kneepkens then they might want Okananwa if Kneepkens falls through (I can see that more with UCLA).

And isn't UConn already overloaded with guards? Arnold, Shade, Cheli, Ziebell, Fisher, (Ducharme)...

Vandy and Georgia hurt me more!

Pretty certain she’ll end up at Maryland. Seems they tampered with her and that’s her only visit so far and the only one scheduled. Will be shocked if she goes somewhere else.

She would be a great fit for us though.

The only question I have, if she (Olunchi) entered with a “do not contact” tag then if she heard from that list of schools it would mean her agent contacted them right?

Hearing rumors Geno may retire but is waiting until the portal closes.

Which makes no sense since they can enter if there is a coaching change

Edit: after some thought it kinda makes sense because he can help land them what they need in the portal and set the next coach up for success.

Do they hire Berube or Ralph? I’m almost certain they’ll try an alumni first, probably to their detriment, just doesn’t seem to ever work out well.
I would think Chris Dailey , if she decides to stay. The only undefeated coach in history

That takes all their fun away. What fun is a good stabbing if you can’t twist the knife a time or two…

Agree I also think Okot is a top 20 player. How can he rank Marta Suarez over her? I really think the team that gets Fulwiley is getting the best at least top five player in the portal. A coach that turns her loose is going to profit. We have already seen this happen with Rivers and Cooper. Fulwilley is going to have a big season for someone next year.
Send us Fulwiley and Barker with a side of Okot and this Lady Vol Fan would be in heaven. A post that can match up with and rebound with any post in the country not to mention run the floor, we'd have 2 crazy athletic PFs in Spearman and Barker that would be dynamic in the paint, but could both stretch the floor to the arc and the backcourt would be undeniably one of, if not the most skilled in the country with the returners and Fulwiley not to mention the freshman coming in, that wouldn't be pushed into situations before the were ready. Those 3 players could get us over the hump. Hell, watching practice would be as good as watching the games.

100% and the freedom this system allows, this kind free flowing offensive system may allow her to show her skills set rather than be controlled by a rigid offense that didn't allow her to play to all her strengths.

I agree it’s an exaggeration to try to describe the losses to LSU as Tennessee getting pounded.
In both matchups when we faced LSU and Texas, those games came down to the final minutes.
Tennessee had some inconsistency with free throw shooting and late game turnovers that were the difference.
Coach Caldwell knows exactly what her team needs to improve on and how they need to train to get to the next level.
All these ridiculous posts about getting all these different players out of the portal who are in there for reasons that wouldn’t make us a better team is comical.
One or two post players that have size are gritty, athletic, can finish at the rim, rebound and play defense is what will make this team better.

According to Talia Goodman 57 players 6-4 or taller still in the portal. I’m sure they have a plan.

Not really familiar with that person but honestly it doesn’t have to be a player 6’4 or taller. If we add one or two posts above 6’0 that have a skillset to play both ends of the court in this system it would make us better with the players on this year’s roster.
