Dawn never promises playing time regardless of how high a recruit or transfer is rated. Players come to SC knowing full well that whatever playing time they get must be earned. If they stick it out and grow their game like Feagin by their senior year they'll start and have a shot at the WNBA. Had Coop stayed this would be her fourth final four but she probably made the right decision. We don't know that this year yet both are still playing. If neither tries to grab players out of the portal then most probably stay. If they start seeing portal players sign some could leave both places.
OK. But… Bueckers is going to the W. Chen is a grad student, gone after this season. Griffen will have used up her eligibility after this season. How do we get to fourteen? I count eleven returning if all the others on the current roster come back.No source just a determination since they are listed as going after four or rive different portal players and already have 14 on the roster for next season. If they get more than one portal player someone has to leave.
That doesn't take into account Nil money elsewhere. Very few promise playing time it has to earned. The subject is if some agent can get you enough Nil money to move on. Not saying anyone is leaving there but who thought most of the Notre Dame team would leave?Dawn never promises playing time regardless of how high a recruit or transfer is rated. Here is their roster.

But overall its not good for the system you play in to "not hurt" you. It should help you at the next level.good point. also ohio state buckeyes play a similar pressing +three point shooting style (minus hockey subs) and it didn't hurt jacy sheldon's draft stock. WNBA teams want shooters and athletic players. i don't think it will hurt too much. cooper for instance will and should be a first round pick when it's her time. scouts can see her talent CKC's system or not.
If Zee stays on her current trajectory she has a very good chance to play in the W. Next yrs draft is pretty thin, I can def see her late first/early second.i think if zee works on her game she could turn into a low first round high second round pick especially with her size. she needs to work on defense and rebounding.
if spear isn't drafted she still could get a training camp offer
Oh Jewel. This yrs draft is super thin so that helps, but I think training camp contract is probably the best she can hope for.In the CKC system you don't get to "get in a flow", you do your f'n job. I'm sure she's nicer about it, but it's true.

Less mins and lower stats are one thing, but risking your legs, your very livelihood, is quite another. Pretty sure what happened to the LVs this season will be brought up quite a bit in recruiting against them, esp for last yr players looking to go to the W just weeks after college season ends.

IMO, never being allowed to get in a flow really hurt Jewel. Smallish and slowish, she needed to show she can be a consistent 3 pt shooter and that just never happened.
Nice lineup but this team needs to add a couple of proven shooters and a post player that can score also.I don’t get involved with those paywall sites which I believe are the source of 99% of the rumors on this thread.
I will say that there’s always been mutual interest between the top players currently in the portal and Tennessee.
If you’re a Power-4 player the Lady Vols are always at or near the top of the list.
The numbers are feasible to add 3 bonafide players from the portal.
Coach Caldwell basically has a starting lineup returning in Lazaria Spearman, Alyssa Latham, Ruby Whitehorn, Kaniya Boyd, and Talaysia Cooper.
Some of those players will fill roles on the the 2nd starting lineup and there will be a mix of freshmen that will play consistent minutes.
CKC will play 11 players with the possibility of extending the rotation to 12-13.
I'm certainly biased, but watching the All-Star Combine scrimmage, Jewel looks very, very good. As other players are looking tired with the pace of the game (shots falling short, huffing and puffing), Jewel looks totally at ease. I'm about halfway through the stream and I think Jewel is 4-4 on 3s so far to go with a couple assists (off drive and kicks) and rebounds.Oh Jewel. Was never a consistent scorer, esp in big games. Also stats look better than actual performance, she'd shoot 70% once in a while then 1-10 the next few games. Had a really nice stretch early in the SEC season, even Co POW. But then mostly a non factor down the stretch. Never reliable either year. Great kid, I wish her the best.Show me how it hurt her?

She needed to show W level defensive ability. While she improved under CKC, probably not enough.

Thats great I'd love her to get a look. But she's got an uphill climb to make a roster.I'm certainly biased, but watching the All-Star Combine scrimmage, Jewel looks very, very good.
