IMO, universities and coaching staffs can't talk about being "family" and saying they value "loyalty" and then "clean out" players who are very much loyal family members just because THE COACHING STAFFS may have miscalculated how effective they could be within their program, even if the previous staff recruited them. You simply do not throw players away after they've fully bought into the concept of everyone being family, especially if those players are exemplary human beings in every other way. You just don't do that.

Wells has a year left, had a redshirt and a COVID yr going into this season. She would qualify for the Zaay Green Longevity Award. If healthy and still wants to play I could see her going to Mizzu

The way the major sports are becoming a business, scholarships are going to be treated like business contracts that don't have to be renewed if performance is subpar. Maybe top players will have buyout clauses when jumping to other schools. Or colleges can work out trades. A national high school draft can be initiated.

Exciting times ahead. It's a new era.

You can't have players on the roster that's never going to play. You could with Walkons, they are nomore.

Would they let a walk-on stay on the team as a practice player and not dress or travel for games? I'm not sure who would want to do that. Unless you just wanted to go to the University and be a part of the team in some way vs transferring down to play at a lower division college you really don't want to attend career wise as a student.

If they are not good error the system let them go so we can upgrade to someone that can benefit the team. There’s probably 3 that don’t fit the system. If you want to win this day and time got to what best for the team.

Coach Caldwell, Coach Tubner, and Coach Lazo likely are set to watch the McDAAG featuring three UT commits Civil, Mia Pauldo, and Prawl this Tuesday to get a start on seeing how each of these players will integrate into the system in a few months.
They put on a show during the McDAAG scrimmage going head to head with the West team featuring the Top 3 ranked players in the 2025 class.
Prawl, Civil, and Mia stood out. CKC is probably not bringing in any guards via the portal… take 2 or 3 post players and this team is ready and built to compete for a Nat’l Title in the 2025-2026 season.

Seeing the team we just had couldn’t score yesterday and multiple times this season , to not go after the best guard in the country is a mistake. Relying on Coop to lead us will be something.

I say we need 2 more post players and 1 guard who can shoot the ball from 3.
