2026 recruiting

It hasn't been too many years ago that Alabama hired an elderly member of the men's coaching staff to coach the women.

Using the men's success in basketball this year - how many SEC women's teams can be successful enough to make it to the final 68? and how soon?

Florida, Georgia have a greater pool of local players, Texas A&M unlimited money, Ark, MO and Auburn - not attractive to recruits. many challenges for each SEC team to climb the conference schedule or to upseat , or to remain at or near the top.

I may be wrong, but Prawl should be the biggest impact player out of the shoot in the UT system. Caldwell will probably give the twins all the minutes they need to grow up fast in college ball also, I expect both to be contributors, but Boyd will be the lead PG. I’m curious about Civil. I have watched some film. She could be the best one of the litter or the last one, it’s hard to tell. Some will say she is the bomb already, a sure thing. Perhaps, I think she needs a season or so but wth do I know.

Hurst is a complete unknown imo, could swing either way, but she looks the part of a specialist type if she sticks to BB. Either way, there are 2-3 impact players in this group right away and 3-4 long term with a possible 5th in there also, a great class. Prawl might be amazing right away. The twins will be good right away also, good enough to play a bunch.

Spearman will make a big jump next year imo. She might be ALL SEC.
Don't sleep on Civil, you're in for a wake up call ,early and often. Hurst is a 3-point marksman, she'll also surprise a few.

We need to offer Kimora Fields
Kimora Fields was dominant from start to finish in Murfreesboro, as the 6-foot junior forward won her second state tournament MVP award by scoring 58 points on 25-of-36 shooting to go with 28 rebounds and seven assists over three games in as many days.
- Chattanooga Times Free Press

Entering the state tournament, Fields was averaging 20 points, 7 rebounds and 3.3 steals in just 21 minutes per game. During Bradley Central's 3 regional tournament games, she scored 64 points and racked up 13 assists in 44 minutes of play, hitting 12 of 13 shots in one game and 12 of 15 in another. Fields set the state record for season FG % as a sophomore (69.2%).

Bradley Central finished the year 35-1 and is currently ranked 4th nationally by MaxPreps.

I see Boyd as more a combo guard. I think Mia will be our main PG, much like Sam is currently with Mya and Boyd splitting time at both guard spots.
Maybe Boyd starts game one at shortstop because she will be a sophomore. Then of course it goes to who plays better. One thing seems quite certain she will not play more minutes there than Mia Pauldo. I can see Mia going for a 25 minute plus average in her first season.

She is phenomenal basketball player. And she will likely have a good college career. However, posters complain because there are a couple current players that are holdovers that do not fit the system we run. Fields would probably struggle in this system. Undersized post that doesn't have great length, not fast, not a springy athlete. She is however a very skilled, high IQ player.

In high school, most players taller than 6’ have a tendency to be used as an inside player because there are not that many players taller than! Her and Stoval are the only players taller than 6’ ! After watching her in the state tournament. She will play the wing in college….. JMO

Kimora is a player similar to Pucket but she is a step faster and she has a quicker reflexes or twitch that some people call it ? That being said : I cannot say she would or wouldn’t fit in coaches system? I have been out of the recruiting scenario for tooo long now . But I still recognize talent and this player has talent and decent ball handling skills to compete in college! She is an in state player and already ranked 30 something by hoopgurlz. I believe we should offer her for these reasons! JMO

When did Boyd start playing softball? Just kidding around I'm guessing you meant point gaurd.

She is absolutely a better overall basketball player than Hurst. If the assumption is that Fields will be moving to the perimeter in college, Hurst is a better perimeter player than Fields right now. I personally think Hurst will struggle at the SEC level.

I remember alot people on here saying a few of our current players would not fit in the system that Kim would bring. They are doing quiet well.

You know this based on what? The 2025 recruits she landed which have stayed committed for months include 3 McDAAs, 2 Gatorade State POY, 3 State Champions, and 4 will play for a National Championship.
They have all shown as much or even more interest since the start of the season in playing in CKC system after watching it. They watch this system beat UConn and stated their plan is to win multiple National Titles at Tennessee.
Getting caught up in the hype of 2026 prospects Top School Lists when there’s about 50 prospects including several we aren’t even aware of at this stage that will become options for CKC to sign is okay to debate but not a measuring stick of who she sign in the 2026 class and definitely not an indication of her system. Up until February, South Carolina had only 1 2025 HS commit. Texas, Kentucky, and UCLA currently have 1.
Is it those schools system?
Athletes want to play in a system that wins games, and so far CKC is doing well with her system. It may not be the style we are used to, or even like, however, CKC is rocking her system well. If it was a turn off, she would not have the number 2 recruiting class.

Why would a top ranked players continue to go to Clemson. They've gotten multiple all Americans the last few years and they just don't win. There must be lots of NIL money to be got there or something.
They have a new coach (Poppie from UTC). They're getting better. Improved greatly over the season. He's a good coach.
