I didn’t think that was a catch. The ball hit the ground between his hands. He was holding the top and bottom of the football as he hit the ground, and the middle part of the football touched the turf, but I knew once they began review that it would be “the ruling on the field stands.”
 
Doesn’t matter. The Bammer Birmingham Replay Office says he did. Never any doubt that’s the way that was going to go.
 
Never see the ball touch the ground.
He has to show control of the ball before he touches down. When his knee touched down in the endzone, he was still bobbling the ball, so that doesn’t count. By the time he possesed the ball, his elbow hits out of the back of the endzone.

Under the rules it was a catch. Why is that so hard to understand?

The receiver has to have “full control” of the ball all the way down to the ground.

The ball was still moving which would result in no catch.

It’s been that way forever.

It didn’t suddenly change overnight.
