We are not good. VCU played a truly BAD first half--and we are up 1. And the reason is that the Vols aren't good either. UT's bigs are non-existent, and the Vols have this habit of playing badly every time they get a 5-point lead--turnovers, fouls, weak rebounding--just very sloppy overall. Our inside play is horrible. Fields doesn't know what he's doing, Williams is lost. VCU has some size and some athleticism, but they are not very good overall at all.

Our complete lack of an attempt at a half court offense has a little more to do with it. If we were even mediocre in a half court set, we'd be up double digits, easily.

I saw alot of rebounds just not fall our way. I also saw alot rebounds get snatched away from us at the last second. we really need to get in there and be physical.

would dribble around out front for 12 seconds, then not even pass the ball! Then, he'd look over at the bench, asking what to do? He did that three straight trips down the floor. Run the offense, man!

I agree about Gottlieb--biggest weenie in broadcasting by a mile.

Final four bound......jk. still don't know what to think of this team. I feel like our inexperience will come bite us in the rear a few games this season

Someone please explain this too me.

Why in the hell are Skylar, Pearl, and Woolridge on the floor at the same time? We gave up our lead for the simple fact that we have all of them out there.

The half court defense has been worse than it was in the first two games. The halfcourt offense hasn't been any better either. VCU's really doing us an advantage by pressing. If we could just rebound defensively this would be a blowout.

one positive that I found tonight is that it is almost impossible to play any type of zone or help defense with Tobias Harris on the court and playing well. He can be a scoring threat from any point on the floor and having a defender leave him to play help defense does not seem like a very intelligent idea.

I agree on our offense, but they are shooting 20% from the field. We are playing good d, we are just getting some tough foul calls that are sending them to the line, and those are usually after giving up rebounds. We need to rebound the ball and the rest will take care of itself.

The good news is that while we may be mediocre, who in the SEC will actually be even close to good? Kentucky? Will look at them tonight against UCONN--but very young. Florida? Don't really know what they've got, but the gators haven't exactly been world-beaters the last two or more years. Georgia? When has georgia been good? No one else in the conference will be good--though I'm sure Vandy will give us major trouble on their stage--I mean, court. Really, a lot of early-season college basketball is pretty bad nowadays as the game is dominated by really young players, since the really good ones go pro quickly.
