You think we could get our youth out to vote, by giving them some money,They might consider going to the booths then, my nephew says he and his friends would'nt make a differance anyway,I think alot of them feel this way. It's sad!:whistling:

Wasn't there a study that came out last year that attached a dollar figure to someone's right to vote based on how much money they would take for giving it up? Is that where you pulled the $25 figure from?

Screw that, voting is the right we have as americans to elect people that share our views and people do not go to the polls it is not my problem, I just do not want to hear them b*tch when their welfare gets lowered and they have to go to work. H*ll in other countrys they would pay to have the right to vote. I think there should be a "You don't Vote You Don't B*tch" public awareness rally or something.

Never pay someone to vote. If they aren't motivated to cast their vote it's too bad for them.

I like this plan only if we amend it to include the following:

50% of the paid voters are chosen at random to be shot dead.

bad idea, there are too many ill-informed people voting already. Imagine if the KKK paid $50 to each and every one of it's toothless, redneck membership to go vote.

It's far better to have a million well-informed voters go to the polls than 10 million Oprah watchers or 100 million idiots who'll look at a candidate's middle name and immediately see the boogie man.

I think the gov. is spending enough $$$ already, no need to spend more. Just the thought of paying someone to go vote is flat out crazy. No.

I wish people who do not care enough to pay attention to politics in off years would just stay home and save their time, instead of voting in a system they absolutely know nothing about.

:gun: HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL :machgun: THE BETTER PLAN MAY BE TO JUST SHOOT EVERYONE WHO DOESN'T VOTE ! If 80 % percent of U.S. citizens voted , our country probably wouldn't be in the trouble it is today ! lots of people talk about the way our country is ran so poorly, but are just to d_ _ n lazy to go vote

Negative. If 80% of the electorate actually voted, we would be even worse off. I would like to see the percentage drop to around 25-30%. Most likely, those would be intelligent people who actually understand economic policy and consequence, the concept of liberty and personal responsibility, and have a decent grasp on foreign policy and defense strategy. 80% of our nation would rather watch and vote for American Idol contestants than take the time to educate themselves (gasp! RESEARCH?!?!) on policy initiatives.
