I agree that they could've easily hosted it at Titans stadium.
The titans damn sure aren't trying to play football any day of the week there this year in any way.

How are we going to handle those 30 Vandy fans screaming in the stands?

I think we have a good chance to shut him down completely like they did, but the Georgia game has made me leery of that idea. Obviously, it's hard to make plays against Georgia, but we got ZERO pressure on Beck, so I'm leery. If we don't pressure and contain Pavia, I think the game this weekend will be a nail biter. I hope that's not the case, because with everything we have on the line it'd be hard for everyone to continue playing loose if the game is close. Tense situations is when false starts and dropped passes tend to manifest.
Pavia in the pocket is not a huge threat...it's when he's scrambling and a threat on the ground they are dangerous. All we have to do is contain him. Which is what teams have been doing since the Kentucky game.

up till and including the Kentucky game he was completing 70% of his passes and Vandy was 4-2

since then he has completed 52% and Vandy is 2-3.

In those first 6 games Pavia attempted 123 passes in the 5 games since he has attempted 137.

Basically if Pavia is throwing the ball Vandy is losing.

In Vandys 6 wins Pavia has attempted more than 20 passes only twice (Auburn 22 and Ball State 31) and averaged 16 carries.

In Vandys 5 losses he had at least 22 pass attempts. And averaged 13 carries.

Stop the run and make him pass and they lose. Simple.. if we jump on them early its over. But that's not as easy a task as many might think.. the one thing no one has talked about in Vandys run is their defense. They are only allowing 22 a game and have only given up 30+ 3 times. All of those 30 points games were early. A lot of that is time of possession. They are like Army in they hold the ball and wear out your defense.

Every game Vandy won they won time of possession every game they lost they lost time of possession. Force 3 and outs (something our defense has been VERY good at this year) and they are harmless. If you look at their 2 big games Texas and Bama shows the trend with them very clearly because you cango and look at all their games and if you look at time of possession difference its reflected in how the game came out. They only beat Bama because they literally never gave them the ball 42-18 time of possession advantage. Texas got the ball just enough edging them out with 31-29. They are not an explosive offense they just plod along churning away on the ground then they catch you sleeping and throw a bomb to some random dude.

Great point. Wouldn’t they want the added revenue to help pay for their remodel? Makes no sense.
Kansas is playing most of their home games this year at Arrowhead in KC during their massive stadium remodel in Lawrence.
Not sure why Vandy didn’t make a deal with the Titans.
Do the Titans own that stadium?

Vandy s offense hasn't exactly been lighting it up recently. 17 is the most that they have scored in the last three games. Pavia is hurt, not to mention our D is athletic. 14 points likely will win this one.

I'm not sure it's the actual stadium that's got some fans concerned. It's the reality that, for whatever reason, this UT team just doesn't play well away from home. Such a huge game for this team and program awaits Saturday. Hoping this is where it all clicks and we finally seize upon that opportunity.
We play well in the morning..... just ask LSU. Austin Price says it's because we always practice in the morning.

Vandy has no problem raising money, so resources for the renovation are not an issue. Plus, any added revenue from a game at Nissan Stadium would be negligible once you factor in stadium rental and overhead. It wasn’t worth it for them.

Vanderbilts stadium renovation has been a complete clustererf-ck. Visitors last year had to dress in trailers. Every team should return the favor next time Vandy visits them.

According to Barstool Tennessee on Instagram, more than 250 Checker Vandy flyers have been hung up around Vanderbilt’s campus ahead of the game.

The Checker Vandy flyer reads, “Gameday Update – Make sure to wear the color for your section for this weekend’s game. We will be celebrating National Environmental Awareness Week. Anchor Down!”

They haven’t really lit it up on offense all year. Their “talent” is long, ball controlled drives that shorten the game and keep the opposing offense off the field.

Vandy doesn’t hit a lot of big plays. If Tennessee’s defense can keep Vandy behind the sticks, we should be in good shape. We’ve been good at piling up TFLs all season. Some early down TFLs Saturday are just what the doctor ordered.

What’s the SEC’s minimum requirements now, 28,933? Those Vandy guys can cipher.

A GOOD SEC commissioner would have interceded and said for SEC games that they WILL be played at the Titans Stadium 🏟️. If Vandy wouldn’t work that deal out with the Titans, then he would. Otherwise, all of Vandys 4 home games would be played at their opponents stadium.

Because Vandy built (and sold) their new premium seating first, so they would have to practically sell out Nissan Stadium to make up for the loss of premium seat revenue.
